I came up with the initial rhythmic riff on my bass, then looped it to create the basis for this track. Then, I layered another "lead" bass track on top of that, added some percussion, and finally topped it off with an electric piano-ish sound…
I imagine this music playing in a bar sometime in the future, probably in the background while cybernetic bar patrons interface with one another in full view of the world's sensor network.

This dark reggae tune has been hanging around in my "works in progress" folder for a while, but I was finally inspired to complete it when I borrowed a guitar from my friend Joe. Thanks, Joe!

Chorus is NSFW. Inspired by responses to one of my Facebook status updates requesting suggestions for song ideas. I incorporated all of the ideas offered. Took less than 2 hours, start to finish, to write and record. I really like the synth melodies…

Half a Glass of Gasoline
Mixed with Some Kerosene
Stirred in with Coffee
Laced with amphetamine

Fantastic! I definitely can't disagree with any of the other comments here. The lyrics are great, and the vocals set the perfect mood for the tune. The only suggestion I have is maybe to brighten the acoustic just a touch and maybe add a touch of delay (just a nudge below where you could consciously hear it).
Well i gues i was just sitting bored at home in new years even and i came up with the hook , then just worked on it on and off, and ended up with this.
Hope you enjoy it :)
Post RPM jammin'. I don't feel much like cleaning up after RPM. Not yet anyway. I think my little Casio took a beaten and went out of tune. I did this arrangement with just the Casio, guitars and
harmonica, hence the annoying piano and strings…
Track 5 from RPM 2010 "They Are Killers."
I actually feel like this one's a little sloppy... post-RPM I'm considering re-tracking all of the guitars on most of my songs to do a better release.
I guess I knew this would happen. Talk about creating one's own reality Sheeeeesh. End of the month and my pen has been re-fueled and I added some vox to this one, plus some lead guitar, and a bit of synth strings. I also took a shot at some…
A Song about peace......

Maybe it’s looking alright,
But we know........
Maybe it’s looking alright,
But we know........

Well, song 10 finally. A bit on the heavy side, some odd FX, strange vox, an Ibanez, The ever present harmonica, and some help from Illegal Alien Autopsy.
This was the first song I tracked for RPM. But, since my pen has run out of ink this month…
Where's all this sappy music coming from? The Olympics were on. I must have been watching too much figure skating or something.
Unmastered track from my 2010 RPM Challenge submission.
I wanted to play more directly with noise of various kinds so this piece focuses less on techniques and fancy plugins and more on selection & arrangement of sounds.
I spent many hours going through Reaktor ensembles I've downloaded searching…
An intrumental Track I put together when Thinking about my family.
One Guitar represents my son, one my wife and one me......
Two Versions with Vox (Jim Higgins and Geir Alfsen) are also in existance.. not sure how to link to this site…
Nice! This has a genuine rock feel and tone, and the groove seems simultaneously familiar and fresh. I agree that it could stand alone as an instrumental, but it'd be interesting to hear a version with vocals.
Happy Valentine's Day Everyone.
I think this song has grown on me in the last few
days. I'm diggin' it. I hope you all do too. I
wanted to hurry up and get the demo out for
Valentine's Day. Finished at 3:05am. Wha whoooo!
I need to…
Hey Kids, Happy RPM. Surf's up! I played this one for my lady, she said she wants to move to California. I'm not sure if that's because I've been wired up in the Dog House for 9 days or if she wishes to try some surfing. Go figure....
Anyway…

I love the chill/stoner vibe of this!
Hahaha, guess what? Something very similar happened in a game released last year. The tracks are different, but the atmospheres remain strong.
I love it when I find something in favorites I haven't heard in ages and it's even better than I remember. Super track!
Well done!
Whoa!! Thanks again for another brilliant track!
Clever stuff! The music is perfect for the subject. Most fascinating.
Pretty cool, pretty dark, pretty hypnagogic. Love the understated beats and synth.
This is a great track! Really nice.....
double "G" double "O" vy. Nice.
Oh, and I love the crunchy stuff coming in after 3:00
Right up my alley. Enjoyable and full of lovely spoken voice.
simple and very cool
I don't think I got notified of this one. I like it.

Great dance groove! Nice transitions and development, too.
Good R&B groove!
Definitely nailed the spaghetti western theme! Doesn't sound like it needs a bunch of cleanup. In fact, its pretty awesome as-is!
Excellent track! Love the timbres you chose for this.
Good song, well played! Love the vocal harmonies, too.
Does sound a bit loose, but the raw ingredients are great! Good choices on the guitar tones.
Fun groove, Geas. Lovin' it!
An honest, intimate performance. Good job!
Nice ambient track! I like the peeping of the robotic chicks, begging to be fed their regular meals of internet worms. :D
I think I'll be making a few (hopefully minor) changes to this, maybe adding something else to develop the tune a little more.
Hilarious! Love it.
Congrats on #10! Love the crunch of the guitar, er, AXE!
This is lovely! Extremely emotive tune. I agree with Kirk about the ebow solo.
The coordinated chaos of this is impressive! Those layers are pretty wild.
What a lovely recording... honest and heartfelt playing.

Fun tune! The Casio worked pretty well for this.
The subtlety of this track is quite compelling. The synthy swells are, well, swell! :)
Love this one! Dark and peppy at the same time. Very nice blend.
