very nice,,i like it fine,, vocals, and music seem to fit quite well together in style and mix,,, i guess in some part it depends on what your trying to achieve,, but as an outsider to the process, i think it's quite nice

With all these recordings, this year's RPM even more than last, you are aiming straight at a deep love and appreciation I have for the music of this period. Usually when people go for this sound, it comes across to me as either having a gross modern sheen to it that makes me want to vomit, or they're being overly reverential, killing the great old tunes in the process. How you manage to straddle that divide and produce something that apes the genre without feeling like a copy while also not feeling the need to force it somewhere it doesn't need to be...is beyond me, and I'm all the more amazed for that. I wish I could come close to this sort of music-making fidelity. Needless to say (?) I adore this track, absolutely adore it.

Brilliant the sound, vocal, the lyrics the playing loved it

like the stumbly rhythm to this.. cant see anything particularly adversely affected vocals wise butty. sounds fine to me. thats all im onna say about that

It's not something i've used much to tell the truth (and why not tell the truth once in a while eh?) so i might actually learn something.

I agree with kavin, it does lend itself to an old 78, but i like it. I think it fits well for the style of music.

I've noticed the Yeti has a lot of midrange, so I've been adjusting eq for that, like GN said. It's actually perfect for this style, type of song, sounds like an old 78, without the cracks and pops.

Digging your voice with a big ole spade.

Sonically it's very good. Very clear and a good mix. Maybe it has a bit of harshness that could be EQ'd out but it might be hard to pinpoint. Once you do then that should be good from then on to always use that EQ. I would experiment until you get the sound you like. Still, it's a very good recording. And, another good song!

tried listening to this but Alonetone hasn't played anything for me for about 2 hours. Thanks for the feedback again. That's exactly the kind of thing i need to hear. I've been aware of it and tried different positions and things around the mike but didn't think of Eqing it - i try to avoid that kind of fiddling as i get lost so easily in there but if there is something specific to do i should be able to figure it out. Thanks again and good to see you getting some new songs in the pipeline. g
