Putting my own stank on a cover from another mother. Jeff is brilliant and so is Stevie Wonder who wrote and George Martin who produced Jeff's Grammy winning version. What Greatness!

I recently got back in touch with an old friend/guitarist who had moved across the country nearly 20 yrs ago. We discussed maybe doing a collab so I whipped up this original instrumental track and he laid down the lead melody guitar part.

Rendition of Stepping Out originally by John Mayall and the Blues Breakers. A little tone secret that Eric used on some of these tracks is he set his toggle switch to the middle position and turned his neck pickup volume down to about 7 or 8 by…

Recorded this one as a test track to sync with the video I shot for it. I am not happy with the computer virtual amp guitar sound on this. I will re-record this and mic my amp for that real cranked 100 watt tube sound.

FDR emerged from his cave one morning and took a stroll,it was a blustery day and his ears blew back like two streamers in the wind. He went down into the woods and there in the dappled sunshine he saw something gleaming through the…
Warning: Synthesized Acoustic Instruments
(ca 1998) A sort of sappy ragtime ballad thing. Composed on a Roland JV-30 using Cakewalk. This version was rendered with TiMidity++ & freepats from a recovered MIDI file. I don't know what happened…
Dug up an old one. I'm sure 'True Blood' had something to do with this. All I do know I was just getting over Flu, hence the voice !!!! No more Flu please, twice in my life is enough !!!!
Why?
Oh' I am not so ready in my heart
But I will reach for closeness to the wind
Fear stops what we feel.
I feel i know you now.

Let's talk of all the things we need to say
No whispers will suffice in our abode
Only song of what we…
Jip1965 came round to kick my ass into gear and played a bit of rhythm i did the rest and then sent it off to the good Lady Jane to do her stuff and very nice stuff indeed! Cheers Me Lady!!! x
A mash/add-on for the Sound-In event this week. Took Glenn Smith's bass piece ("Enter the Ice") from last week, added Shane Cadman's chimes then played some "frozen" guitar over that.
This is probably some of the most original music I have heard. It has alot of recognizable elements that meld together really well. Blows me away everytime.
Waiting for something that would be: familiar feeling, isn't it? We look forward to when she comes back, look forward to when the morning comes; waiting to stop the rain (or when will finally rain...).
Life itself is a... waiting?

Comments on JR James's stuff
I've always loved Jeff Beck... you do this a great tribute. Powerful, moody, cool. Thanks for the video too. Fun to watch you play!
Excellent really dig this
gosh this is lovely!
tasty James
Just excellent!
Very pleasing to listen to. It lends itself well to lyrics too.
Very pretty. Has a lot of beautifully melancholic space in it.
Great track mate
Beautiful! Mellow and full of emotion.
Amazing James! You got the touch!
Dang.
I love how your playing always sounds like fire blazing out of the strings...Fan-f***ing-tastic...
Ooooh Yeah Nailed!!
Great playing!
this is the stuff! My feet are tapping!
I love this! Got my dancing shoes on!
More guitar, less knee, please.. Nice moves, James. Agree with you on the amp - just a little too electronic sounding..
Sweet melody, I love the piano part.
Great stuff sounds good to me ....
Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant...

Epic track! Full bore!
:) genious.
Totally helped ease a restless mind. Thank you.
This would make great scoring work. Nice creation.
This is tops. Keeps the interested very similar to Giraffage's stuff.
Totally whacked , had me smilin the whole time.
Nice and rich sound with those stereo guitars and layered vocals.
U have a signature style goin on with that drop tuning, stacked vocals and snappy percussion..
Very hip...could even go in the direction of heavy distorted guitars but stands on its own as is.
Instant fave! Listening while making some Voodoo pancakes....hey voodoo chile!
Real great song and performance. Your lyrics are like a work of art. This creme of crop.
Somebody done spank the booty off that bass line!
Experimental and trippy. Picturing some sort of ritual in the desert. All the dissonant chord tones work great.

A higher musical consciousness. Meditative.
That is a very strange sound there..cant plac e what it is but its strange and beautiful at the same time.
