Putting my own stank on a cover from another mother. Jeff is brilliant and so is Stevie Wonder who wrote and George Martin who produced Jeff's Grammy winning version. What Greatness!

I recently got back in touch with an old friend/guitarist who had moved across the country nearly 20 yrs ago. We discussed maybe doing a collab so I whipped up this original instrumental track and he laid down the lead melody guitar part.

Recorded this one as a test track to sync with the video I shot for it. I am not happy with the computer virtual amp guitar sound on this. I will re-record this and mic my amp for that real cranked 100 watt tube sound.

These are really good songs. I would love to hear them recorded in a studio setting w/ equip etc.... I can feel the soul and the heart of the songs just as you have them. Very nice.
This is a bonus track of sorts for the mock EP It takes a village. I had the verse chord chages around for many years but just until last week the song and lyrics came together really quickly. I thought I heard a band arrangement originally but…
@Tess,
Its played using a YouRock guitar midi controller. I play it fingerstyle for the most accurate piano affect. It does the trick. I am using a vsti called PianoOne which is sounds most realistic for a free plugin.
I've been working on this song for 3 years. I recorded it many times. I was never happy with it until Trevor(Regs) made it a song. Fantastic job on the vox man.
Theres something I would share with you, if you ever asked me to.
Perhaps it is a secret, perhaps you already know.
Im not the boy you look for now, but I could change.
Im not in love with myself, but I think I am with you.

My first upload.
This is a cover of probably my favourite song of all time, by The Waterboys, who were introduced to me many years ago when the highlight of my week was Thursday night TV, pizza and quaffing Baileys.
Thanks to Sister S for…
A Mat Kearney cover. I'm moving to Australia next month and unfortunately have to give Sister Savage her lovely guitar back which she kindly lent to me (ages ago), so had to quickly get one upload on before I give it back and my stuff goes on…
Poor old Reg just can't seem to stop his old ways and leave them behind....i'm not sure he even tries you know............

sometimes i’m lost
sometimes i fly

Oh well, nothing like going to a middle school music function to break writers block, all those posters and flare about achievement...
Special thanks to my sons middle school band, The Preston Pumas playing at the end !
Comments on JR James's stuff
I've always loved Jeff Beck... you do this a great tribute. Powerful, moody, cool. Thanks for the video too. Fun to watch you play!
Excellent really dig this
gosh this is lovely!
tasty James
Just excellent!
Very pleasing to listen to. It lends itself well to lyrics too.
Very pretty. Has a lot of beautifully melancholic space in it.
Great track mate
Beautiful! Mellow and full of emotion.
Amazing James! You got the touch!
Dang.
I love how your playing always sounds like fire blazing out of the strings...Fan-f***ing-tastic...
Ooooh Yeah Nailed!!
Great playing!
this is the stuff! My feet are tapping!
I love this! Got my dancing shoes on!
More guitar, less knee, please.. Nice moves, James. Agree with you on the amp - just a little too electronic sounding..
Sweet melody, I love the piano part.
Great stuff sounds good to me ....
Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant...

This could start a beer brawl! Rockin tune!
Sick right from the start. This deserves a grammy!
Fits the bill perfectly:)
Melodic indeed. Very nice.
Awesome vocals and another fine piece of songwriting.
Great songwriting. Like the rythym of the lyric. Very Nice:)
Damn good riff. Love those drum smackin away! Nice psychedelic solo.
I like the unrest of the strings. Like impending doom. Another good one!
Very, very cool. Outside the box and screaming.
Now that is some killer orchestration! Damn nice work. The depth of the instruments is so realistic.
