Landry/Garn
When I sent this song off to Jim, he sent back tracks for a second rhythm guitar, lead guitar, and drums. Bass soon followed, and Kavin's slide dropped in nicely. Just thought I'd let y'all have a listen to what came back to me…

Cool. In many ways I like this one better. Not so much ME, and Jim does some lead. Nothing against Norm, but the drums work better here and seem to propel the song more.

Great job on the mix Keith!!! I love how this version came out too! It's stange because when I tried to mix in Kavin's guitar with everything it did not sit as well in the mix! I might need to work up a hip hop version too !! hahaha.

Well, here's a REAL oldie. This is the one my kids like me to play most when we're in the backyard with the fire pit and the sun going down. They play gently through the first 4:07... And then run around like maniacs for the last 1:20.

So I dropped the guitar into DADGAD tuning for the first time, threw a capo on the third fret, rifled off something nice, and sent it to Movement to Contact for his contribution, got it back, did some mixing...
Here is the result.
YOU NEED…
A song for my daughter.
My blue-eyed girl
Living in your blue-sky world
I'll do my best to keep the clouds away
Life is better on a sunny day
Smooth the road out where you go
Let your light shine and watch you grow
RPM 2013
I write letters that I have
no intention of sending
I tell stories that wander on
without an ending
I have never really gotten done
with anything
but I am finished with you
I keep water boiling
til the cooking pot runs dry…
RPM 2013 feat. Gary Fox instrumentation
quiet down now, world
bring the lights down, world
we're going to paint a little
pitch black moment
hush those city lights
those neon lullabies
we're off and dreaming with our
eyes wide open…
RPM 2013
Wearing your Favorite shirt
Missing you
Til it hurts
I'm seeing your name in
the Street signs
And the stoplights
Wishing for
Where you are
Reaching out
In the dark
I'm touching the pillow
But you're not there
And it…
Oh, that voice. Every time I hear it sing a new song, it's like the first time I ever heard it... But somehow, this song really shines vocally.
Soooooooo good.
RPM 2013 feat. Gary Fox instrumentation collab
time trickles in
defenses wear thin
these holes in our armor
grow larger each day
steel-edged chills
come in close for the kill
the line in the sand
has been trampled away
it's so wrong…
RPM 2013 feat. Keith Landry guitar collab
there is a crack
in the concrete of our wall
where the sun creeps into all
of the dark things that are
hanging in the silence
even the wind
seems too afraid to come inside
like it may know…
Ah... Just back to listen to my all-time favorite AD track.
This song is on such heavy rotation in the Landry vehicle that the kids harmonize during the chorus.

I knew several teachers. Love this song. Right on, brother. ER
Run around like a maniac? I do that at work every day. Nice playing. I'll bet the kids all fall down at the end. :-) ER
Really enjoyed this one this morning Keith!
Tremendous rhythm you punch out Keith. Yeah, I can see why the children rush about at 4 mins.
:) A lovely thing to share. My 5 year old is scatting along to this! Well, scoobideedoobideewoop!
I can picture that!
Really full sound. Very nice sentiment.
Now that's what I call a very special dad! w;-)

Incredible album. This final track is just beautiful. You have such a tremendous sound and gift for songwriting. Truly spectacular.
Beautiful. Really as good as it gets.
Faved immediately upon hearing that Dylan-esque harmonica.
Settling in for 36:17 of "wish I could sound like that" music! This opening track doesn't disappoint. Everything musically I wish I was.
Oh my. Just spectacular.

This album is one hell of follow-up to Vines. First rate all the way.
