Archival stuff from my distant past with former bandmates in Scartaglen. A set of traditional Irish tunes. Rescued from a cassette tape done at a concert back in the early 90's. Myself on Uilleann pipes and whistle. Mike dugger on guitar and fiddle…

... "Which one?" "Look at your list!" Oh, man ... haven't laughed that hard in days. A metonym for a magic moment!
This is so great! Love that you uploaded this. I long to learn what I need to learn so I can one day play some of this music, myself. Sometimes, one forgets what one wants to do, and the rush of an inspiring reminder is the most wonderful feeling.
Thing is ... there's a lot to learn to play this music, as well as this music is played, here in this beautiful track, and I think a lot of it is almost beyond knowing. Unless one can somehow learn to be open to the ineffable ... maybe. Don't know yet!

You cannot beat a good jig ,I got hooked on them when I heard the 'Mooncoin jig' on the Lp Commoners Crown by Steeleye Span in the 70's.They,like the blues are deceptive ihn that they seen at first sight simplistic in their arrangement and structure BUT the true complexity of them lies in the virtuosity and interperetation of those playing them.
This is an impressive little set and I'm hooked again !

Straight ahead stone city electric blues for an old friend who used to spend hours spinning BB King and Mike Bloomfield records for me. Recorded back sometime at the end of 2006 on old analog equipment
Sitting around in my shop a couple of days ago with the Goodall and the Zoom H4N. First time I've really messed with using the internal mics on the H4N in multitrack mode
Something completely different- Uilleann pipes(Irish bagpipes) and synth. I wrote this tune over 20 years ago in the style of traditional Irish slow airs. It was recorded way back in 1991 for an album that's been out of print for over 15 years…

Solo acoustic guitar recorded January 2nd 2009. Hope to do a longer more developed version at some point ,but for now just a short version to learn more about using new DAW software.

This is a collab song with MTC. I almost hated adding anything to it cuz the first track he sent me was kickass vintage Jim. It totally changed flavors in the collab process, but still one of my favs
This is a piece Norm and I collaborated on last year. We hope you will enjoy it.
two improvised 12 string guitar lines
bass line ( I took a few takes)
improvised piano
Norm's percussion in Tumbao rhythm
Easter Sunday,, soft bubbly white clouds float across a pale blue sky,, above a green green field, filled with rows of those who have passed away,,, my mother and father lie in one such.... fresh flowers, quiet, and sometimes not so, words drift…
for the "pure improvisation" theme at improv Friday. Synthstation and loop pedal.

Demo version of a song I've been messing with.
I know what they're missing... The only girl.
I know what they're missing... The one and only in the world.
i played clean guitar to a metronome then added bass guitar then i played drums over that. re-amped the guitar and bass.just a jam. nothing to see here. move along.
