Sam was a very articulate and kind friend; he spend way too much of his life in a wheel chair and yet demonstrated a lot of grace.
We lost him just over a year ago.
Among many other unexpected, Christ-like kindnesses, he realized at one point…
This is great. It's like it can't decide if it's Jazz or 20th century classical. Reminds me a bit of the first Mahavishnu record without the frantic aspect. That's it- I'm swiping some chord voicings from you for new inspiration
So, I start playing my Guild acoustic. However, the strings were new and had gone all slackish, meaning down a few tones. I liked what it sounded like and took them all off. I then restrung the gtr with super heavy guage acoustic strings. I then…
The title track. I still like this one, though it is somewhat dense, sonically speaking. Another song where I think I pulled of the lyrics relatively well.
This song is based around a sample that I took of my dish washer. The sample starts out simple enough and then gets more chopped up at the end. The song evolved from there. Also in this song is a new pedal I got that is a photo theremin. You…
Thanks for these sounds and for your helpful comments on 'For Joy.'
For horn sounds, I use a combination of my own horn [acoustically/live recorded] and Garageband symphony samples [one of the 'jam packs']. The EQ-ing and time-based effect mix seems crucial. Having a long history around brass, I just try to adjust all of the above to get them to blend and sound reasonably natural.
As to relative 'prolificness,' I've been out of full-time work for too long. I teach part-time and have a backlogue of things that I tend to re-vamp.
Bless you and your efforts, man.

Something I'm working on. I'm a sucker for 5/4 time these days.
The biggest issue is the vocals which are sort of a placeholder right now until I re-write and re-record them, or maybe even find someone who can actually sing to lay something down!
What happened after too much time on youtube watching live vids of "voodoo chile" Noisy obnoxious and very cathartic for me! Live to 2tracks with the Jamman
Similar in feel to the other Fragile Moment track. Mostly acoustic guitars recorded sitting in my shop on the H4N and then finished up in Cubase just this morning. September 9 09. Maybe a nice one for bedtime
Several years ago I had a short lived duo with an oboe and English horn player named Nat. This is a demo from that period. It's an old old chord progression of mine that never really had a melody and Nat improvised this melody in the studio to…
...nice tone/melody here. Thanks for the recent comment on Christmas (Joy). That was an older, more simple mix that seemed a bit more ?? authentic somehow. Best to you today. ks

This is my 3rd home recording. I dug it out again and cleared the moth balls.
"Tart it up a bit" as Sis would say.
I found out that if you rub a strat the wrong way, it will talk back to you. I tried many times to re-create this guitar work…
I wrote this with two of my friends Diego (aka Mr. Napkinhead on alonetone) and Annie. an ode to pasta since my family is all about pasta. we had fun with the lyrics. wrote it in about 15 minutes, recorded it in an hour, and sang it that night…

Hauntingly beautiful!

Transported me somewhere infinitely cooler than my immediate surroundings, and in to the body of someone horribly classier than me.
I think Miles would have liked this one! Great track! And great songs all together!
