An ambient anthemic piece.
The process:
- Start with a live take of me playing an iphone app called tonepad.
- add camelphat and camelspace
- add an Alchemy instance, find a big fat pad, work out a riff
- record a single take accompanying the…
Gurgling, bubbling, churning.
This is the last track of the March 2010 24 hour challenge.
The process...
- find some interesting synth sounds (have collected many)
- work out some basic chords
- do some filtering
- add two tracks of e-bow…
A happy kind of electro pot-pourri.
The process:
- find a sound, noodle in Ab
- find another sound, develop a compatible noodle
- repeat a couple of times
- program a beat
- add replicant
- find other sounds for a B section
- find more sounds…
Another ambient noodle for this weekends 24 in 24.
The process:
- record a bunch of Plinkton (iphone app)
- dupe the tracks a couple of times, screw with the warping tempo
- add camelphat to one, camelspace to the other, leave the third alone…

it's always a pleasure to listen to your work MMI. I dig how you incorporate anything you wish into your music. You've got an open mind and this allows you to express yourself so beautifully in your aural creations.
Where's all this sappy music coming from? The Olympics were on. I must have been watching too much figure skating or something.
Unmastered track from my 2010 RPM Challenge submission.

I've been listening to the output of my *Reichenbach* Reaktor ensemble all morning as it loops and phase shifts a recording of Erik Satie's solo piano piece Gnossiennes-1
I find it to be quite beautiful and entrancing and I decided to render…
Another in my series of experiments with the Reaktor ensemble Metaphysical Function.
I used two instances of Metaphysical Function to generate a soundscape that was bounced to audio, chopped up, and re-arranged.
The whole thing was rather…
Another experiment with the Reaktor ensemble 'Metaphysical Function' only a bit longer this time.
Again Reaktor is the only instrument at work here although it's going through a mastering chain including Space Designer with a very short impulse…
Makes me think that it would be interesting to hear this before it got crushed to mp3. But maybe that would be too scary?
Very cool, even if I have to hide under my desk.
Instrumentation: fretless bass, tabla, acoustic and distorted acoustic guitar, hang drum samples (courtesy of Sudara), soft synth (AAS Ultra Analog), ambient sample of the jungle (pitched down two octaves) a sprinkle of ebow (from my Sudara files).
We're deep in the glitch mines again.
This time with a beat developed in Stylus RMX, a "melody" using Soniccouture Skiddaw stones and Tonehammer Frendo, and a bass from Soniccouture Abstrakt Bass.
The beat was fed through The Finger with…
A little experiment building a sound with the Reaktor ensemble 'Metaphysical Function' which is an awesome sound generating instrument.
Reaktor is the only instrument/effect in this track. I built it using Live 8.0.5 which I am also experimenting…
Experimenting with my piano/keyboard skillz and a first attempt at record clapping. Needs a good go over with some quality drums and some better arranging. Everything sounds very "synthy" on account of I don't have any quality VSTi at the moment.
I told the [good Sister](http://alonetone.com/sistersavage) that I wanted to try using vocals in a track and she offered to do me some abstract, stylized, vocals that I could play with and this little number is the result.
Working with wet (pre…
From the archives. Traditional Irish slow air. Myself on the Uilleann pipes with synth backing. This was recorded at a concert here in Weston back in I think '92. Originally recorded on an ancient 4 track machine and then transferred to cassette…
Poured myself a small cup of acoustic guitar, half finger picking, half ebow. Nothing fancy, nothing magical, nothing fantastical, just something to relax through.
This song is actually part 2 of a 10 minute set I did on my laptop. I broke it into 3 separate songs. Part 1 and 2 were my favorites, as part 3 just based itself on a copyright free sample I did nothing with. I like this one most because of the…
Welcome to my 300th Alonetone upload! I sit with a pile of books to read in a house full of boxes and my studio is not even completely set up; however, I had no choice but to write and record this tune today once the sun went down. This song is…
One of the things about my [Glitching Satie](http://alonetone.com/sandbags/tracks/glitching-satie-1) track that I wasn't comfortable with was that it wasn't my recording that I was using. But I'm nowhere near good enough to play a piece like Gnossiennes…

Sandbags! (crowd goes wild, cut to surprised and happy recipient high fiving his guests)
Awesome stuff man.
Comments on mmi's stuff
love your 24 and the perfect album cover too.
I dig all of these. A fantastic 24 hour effort. And I second what Kirk said, I want to be a fly on the wall in your studio! :)
Retrohappytastic with maybe a little bitterretrosweet also.
Oh my.
Beautiful choice of voices in here - very beautiful in fact. I can feel the sun shining in the garden of my sonic dreams.
Another nice result. I don't think I'd end up with something this enjoyable to listen to if I tried a 24in24!
Nice! Bits of this remind me of some of the more electronic stuff that Anthony Phillips did back 30 years ago
This has a great flow to it that feels very natural, and the choices of sonic elements are fantastic. Nice work!
Really like this one! Lovely track!
Yay! Let's hear it for apps. Like this a lot.
Strange and understated, I really love this.
very cool man. very, very cool!
The recipe obviously worked! Great stuff man. Wish I could be a fly on the wall for a day in your studio

Whoa horse! Heavy MMI. I like this one man. Real cool sound.
Nice, I enjoyed this. You should paint yourself into corners more often!
Beautiful one man!
this is beautiful... I really love this, thank you.
MMI, there can never be too much figure skating.
very nice album!

man. what do you say? how about Wooh!
Very, very nice. In the playlist of my mind this track is followed by Supertramp. Weird, I know.
Very soothing. I could listen to this all day... I might just try.
Superb work. On your way to churning out the club hits :-) /me ducks the shoe :-)
exquisite e-bow elegance elevates every element

Bravo! Bravo! Maestro! Encore!
No idea how I missed this before but holy moly it's great. I have a vision of robot glitch miners line dancing :-)
This is a very cool and creepy toy. I want one too!
This is the opening to a big movie, right? Camera moving slowly through a New England town in the autumn; red leaves blowing around...
mega holy crap AWESOME!
/me sits stunned incredibly moving
I've been waiting for a long time to hear the ebow on the acoustic. Definitely does not disappoint. Super cool sound and super cool track.
Proving once again that those of us caught up in the gear lust have got our priorities all wrong... great track.
Golly, them's some scary bubbles! Awesome.
hey this cleaned up well. The opening vox reminds very 80s :-) Triggered a funny association.
Special stuff.
mmmmm, very very very nice
