ok, volume is fixed, and the title too. Maybe soon I will mix it better or perhaps just move on to better things. Thanks to those who gave excellent advice on previous version.
and the #2 version has been deleted (actually this is #2).

There are a bunch of bass tracks going on here. Headphones help pick out what's going on. This one came to me leaving Taos on the drive back to Phoenix, coming down out of the canyon. I suddenly became conscious of a disturbing dream from the…

itunes->preferences->playback->Sound Check
is the thing that is taking the quiet mp3 from garageband and upping the volume (it's probably normalizing; meaning it scans the file for the loudest part of the wave and adjusts the volume such that that loudest bit is at 0dB - or some other set loudness)
Little known thing in Garageband... Track->Show Master Track
Now, click the info button (bottom right). You'll see that you can apply all kinds of mastering presets here. Try some out.
Congrats on the audio interface.

re:ghost, thanks for the feedback. I tried uploading it earlier with the levels much lower (not redlining at all). The result was that the volume was o low on alonetone you could barely hear it. I deleted it, went back and raised the levels till they were just barely hitting red at loud parts. Result was louder volume on alonetone, but still pretty quiet.

in regards to your reduced volume issue, it is most likely because the recording at some point in the signal process was distorted, so when you mixed it down in garage band it 'auto-normalized' it, meaning it reduced the volume to a point at which the signal on the main out in garageband was not distorting (red lining/going past 0 db).
i would look to make sure that none of your inputs are red lining or that the mix on the main out is not red lining, then when you mix down in garageband and send to itunes the volume will most likely not be reduced.
now as far as the song, i look forward to when you eq it and such, it has this kind of lounge demented sound to it. i imagine myself in a gritty scene potentially on an old nearly broken elevator.
these 2 "new" songs are a test to see if I now have what I need to successfully upload material. These 2 songs were recorded 20 years ago on a Tascam 4-track. The band is the Riptiles.

Nice one! Reminds me of a blues song from a compliation tape a friend made me years ago with an old guy going off about potato chips. Then again, I believe you are referring to what us varmints call "french fries".
I'm not quite sure where I was going with this. I love the Abaska Bong sound and was trying to pair it with something complementary. After going through some truly weird combinations I came up with this.
Thanks fr the quick replys. I was just wondering about that sound, I thought it was probably something like what you described but I thought it would be interesting if it was a random found sound. Its still interesting, no offense I hope.
I've been up for almost 24 hrs so I decided to listen to some of the 24 hr albums I don't get to enough. Your "about" sections for these songs are too negative! This is good stuff.
This is the first 100% Liz-written song! Hooray!
It's about a shitty party I went to on New Year's Eve. It sucked really hard. My bandmate MK was on antibiotics and couldn't drink, and this guy kept passing us by way too close getting his ass…

thank you ic42. That's the nicest thing ever said about losing a toothbrush. Maybe I will loose it again. I've going to Denver at the end of the month. Maybe I can leave my toothbrush in Denver.
After an adventure in re-recording the entire song down a third, we came back to the original, tightened and tuned.
Always the self flagellating perfectionist, it still needs a bit more love. Always the pragmatist, it is probably done for now.
A test run with my new Line 6 DL4 delay pedal. Recorded with a handheld mp3 recorder, hence the ambient room noise. The DL4 was fed into a BOSS loop pedal also. No overdubs, all on the fly.

ohhhhhhh beauutiful fuzzz
Inna-Garage-Band-a-Davida! Very 60's Psychedelic Feel!
Yeah, definitely has a cool retro rock feel! Love the spoken word stuff too - especially in the intro.
I love this groove. Very old school, definitely rockin'.
Haunting. I love the drone quality.

Man I'd like to sit it with your band sometime.
Surf's down! Way, way, on the get down.
You are a Wisian! Nice bass, and very eerie feeling as a whole.
Hilarious...way to mix it up!
Have Purple Herpe day.
i found this one strangely soothing. . . . Top track! Will be listening to this regularly. . Lets you drift off into thought!
There's some dark surf! Cool bass parts and eerie vocal mixing make this utterly strange and compelling.
hahaha.
Wow! What a trip! Love those vocals floating around in the mix!
Swirling psychedelic enjoyment. :)
