When we were kids, my brother used to wake me up before dawn and we would schlep across this field and wait for the unobstructed sunrise. At that time, it seemed like the coolest thing ever!
I saw the sunrise this morning walking the dog it felt special too .... maybe because there’s not many left , well less than that have already been .... let’s hope I’m wrong

I have issues at my house, sometimes they manifest themselves in my tracks. In this case, the bassoon and oboe represent the mouse. The guitar is the peanut-butter.

A little dark......
I stand at the junction between life & death
As the count begins to rise
The darkened moon weeps but is blind to the grief
Of the ones left behind
We weep but we can not hide
Daytime nighttime the hunt for…

I wrote this one in response to a song writing challenge from the Minnesota Association of Songwriters. The title had to be Mississippi Moon and it had to have a I V VI I II chord progression somewhere in the song. Over 20 writers have signed…
Music written and performed by Mike Smith, also known as Dragonsong.
When Mike first asked me to read this poem, he believed it was written around the time of the Spanish Flu...but, our sources say no. It was most likely written by Kitty O…

And here's another song from 1994, with a sparkling new "Andrew Russe Band" arrangement fresh from the broom-cupboard.
Like most of my songs, it was written with an acoustic guitar, a pen, and an A4 pad. The ones…
Nice song. Like the stop up at 2:00. Pretty intense. I’m laughing a bit about the name ‘lament ‘which obviously was supposed to be ‘the practical gardener’. That sounds familiar with my stuff too., lol. 15 years can put a new perspective on almost anything. Cheers.
Ukulele and vocals performed by Jazz, 12.
