My mate Dave did his Ringo bit for this one. He came with some songs title's. I was messing about in Open A (I think ) and came up with this. Thanks to Dave for the Harmonica.
Been meaning to enhance this one for years, it's about 4 years old, sure it came about after a trip to Liverpool. The Cavern Club's not the real one, but what a great sound in there. Thanks to the Good Wife for the vocals.
Ok, this came out while messing around with the original, which one I like best, I can't make my mind up. As always sure you guys will put me right !!!!
Ok I need a lay down now. Been meaning to revamp this for years, still in DADGAD tuning, original sounded to much of a dirge, come to think of it, hope this don't !!!!!!

First things first, many, many thanks to Greg for adding Bass and a Great Harp break. Don't tell my mate Dave, my normal Harp buddy, he's been ill with Flu.

This is my first listen to this one, and it's good stuff, like '60's beach music with a little psychedelica and grunge added in. What is it with you -- don't you ever write a bad song?!
Had to really push the good wife sing this one. After a couple of years of serious health scares she had lost all confidence in herself. Glad I did my 'Phil Spector' trick on her. ( No gun involved !! )
FABULOUS! I dig the guitar, the harmonica, the lyrics, the vocals, but the handling of the drums was especially clever. You're just too cool. Rock on, Blues man!

Oh, it's an old one, the original sounded naff ( search Google to know what Naff means) Slowly going through my old songs re-recording them. I hope to improve them !!!!
Yesterday Rick Babb came over to Fort Worth
to deliver some production stuff to the concert hall
to be used by Ricky Nelson's twin sons during their
performance. We had dinner together and he came over to the
house to kill some time until…

Weight of the World
Open your eyes it’s a beautiful day
Throw off the weight of the world
The air is clear and the sky is ablaze
Winter leaves its scars on us all
I’ll hold…
Lyrics:
You think you know what you’re talking about
You get your way when you scream and shout
Look all around, you’ll find someone to blame
I’m just a pawn in your little game
I thought you were special, that was my mistake
You thought…
I know like me you love the acoustic guitar, but like me you love to Rock it. I tell you now Greg, that is sublime Electric guitar playing, got to say, Steve Cropper would be proud of it. Really one of your best. More please !!!
Another Live performance with former band mates in Scartaglen back in 1988 on the NPR show Mountain Stage. This time a piece of Gaelic mouth music followed by 3 reels. Maybe the most complex arrangement of a set of tunes that we ever did.
Maybe I missed a career scoring for no budget spaghetti westerns, because this is what this reminds me of. Done live a couple weeks ago with the Taylor and a floor full of toys and loopers.
Do you remember waiting patiently outside
When the delivery to the shop had just arrived
The special moment after months of speculation
As you saw the final cover the first time
Held aloft you felt the weight
Like a trophy you had won
You didn…
You still can't believe
That you'd accept the reprieve
Despite the excitement of the sound
That detached you from the crowd
When the foliage recedes
Contracting one more disease
Hidden in the fog that engulfs and surrounds
What was lost has now…
