The third of three tracks in this year's "Winter Sketches" EP. As preparation for my concept for this year's RPM Challenge, ALL SOUNDS were produced on an iPhone. This track was recorded in a single pass using the Beatwave app.

Part six of the ten-part suite. The tracks segue continuously, so downloading them all and listening to them together is the intended experience. Thanks for checking it out!
My 5-year-old daughter has asked me to make music for her to have playing in her room as she falls asleep. So, I'm working on a new album of ambient and downtempo electronica called "Sleep." Here's a work-in-progress mix of the first track.

This is the original version of one of the tracks from my new project… rerecordings of some of my early solo recordings. This track features my friend Mark Bergen on electric piano solo.
This is the new version of one of the tracks from my new project… rerecordings of some of my early solo recordings. This is definitely the most significantly altered arrangement in the project so far. I was almost ready to scrap it entirely until…
This is the new version of one of the tracks from my new project… rerecordings of some of my early solo recordings. I have to admit that the mix of acoustic guitar and Moog-like synth at the beginning of this is (perhaps too) evocative of Kansas…
Song #2 for the RPMC. My goal is to have 12 short tunes (1-3 minutes long), so I need to pick up the pace.
Again, quartal tuning on the top 3 unison pairs of the 12 string. I've been listening to Ralph Towner's Blue Sun, hence the title.

Lyrics:
River run away with me
I got my paddle in my hand
Take me far away from here
Take me to the sea
Take me somewhere I don’t know
Take me where the water goes
Start out fast, then go slow
Closer to the…
Very cool sounds. I love anything with electric piano. Nice mix of atmospheric effects and electronic beats. Makes me want to get back into doing more experimental stuff.
This time paying homage to grandpa. Did I miss any dead folks out this album?
I often stop and think of William
Up on Skinners Ridge
He passed me on his way back down
As I passed from being a kid
A shame you’d say
But aint that the way

An unusual traditional tune from the first Scartaglen album way back in 1984. Going through stuff the other day and ran across the LP and couldn't even remember the tune or having recorded it. I played guitar on this track
rpm 2011
Aweful dad, make you cry
Aweful dad, hope you die
Aweful dad, fear and pain
Aweful dad, embarrassing
Aweful dad, yell & scream
Aweful dad, embarrassing
Aweful dad, no sympathy
Aweful dad, where’s the love
Why when the world

This is really a true story.
No, really...
And our holiday gift to you & your friends. (Feel free to download it and share it with anyone who you think might enjoy it.)
Oh... by the way... acl is finally waking from a very deep slumber…
This crazy getaway song is a little something I wrote when I was convinced that the cops were about to raid my apartment for some reason.
It sounds a little neurotic, kind of like a space-jazzy Radiohead song, except all instrumental.
Make up…

Modern electronic guitar rock.

This one was inspired by Wen's mom; and is therefore dedicated to all those musicians doing RPM, and all musicians who toil away at home to make their music despite what their friends & co-workers might think of their efforts.
Excellent work... reminds me of some of my favorite video game soundtrack music. Would work very well in a Metroid game or in Portal... in other words, something sci-fi with a female protagonist, I guess!
Comments on Room 34's stuff
Amazing sounds!
Really? The wonders of modern science. Sounds great! I like the Chinese sounding influence. Good luck with the RPM cd.
BTW, that "Very VERY cool" was from us. (Not used to signing in from Twitter.) k & w
Very, VERY cool!
Brilliant! I must listen to the whole album
Woaw yeah, great low end! The ominous intro might induce nightmares tho..

Nicely done. Like irok says, punchy. I like it.
Sweet guitar. Reminds me a little bit of "From the Beginning" by ELP. (But not as ELPish.)
Really nice. Great acoustic guitar work, nice vocals. Evocative lyrics that fit the music well. Well done!
This would be perfect for a Metroid-style video game soundtrack.

Thanks for not covering the Extreme song. ;)
A little bit Rolling Stones, a little bit glam. I like it!
Thanks, Alex... I'm glad you could tell I was trying to sound like the Beach Boys. ;)
This brings a smile to my face. Nice work!
Whoa.
"If there's enough people to believe, there will always be someone to lead." Good work!
I'm not a big punk fan, but I actually like what you're doing here... it's like a punk symphony. Cool. Nice work.
This is great... and it just keeps getting better! Thanks for a laugh this morning... I needed it!
Cool sounds, reminds me of watching smoke curl slowly in still air.
Sweet harmonics!
Cool beats, nice mix of instruments and electronic sounds. And I LOVE the album cover. Futura, the official font of all 1950s science education films!
Nice! Dave Gilmour would be proud...
This is hilarious! I love it.

Makes me visualize swimming in peanut butter. Despite that probably unintended imagery, I like it!
