Here's the second one we did at the Winterland Studios. You'll hear Greg Connor on guitar and vocals, Colin W. on bass and vocals and Randy C. on piano. This was a blast! I think this is definitely the best version yet of this song.
I uploaded this one earlier in the month with a rough track. Colin W. and Greg Connor helped me improve the arrangement and we recorded it at Winterland Studios this past week with some amazing equipment and awesome sound mixing support from…
Final version
Day 28
Anyone else still writing songs?
this is the result of trying to listen to too many mixes in one day. Sometimes it's just easier to record something else.
This was an RPM track back in the day, and I've been playing it various ways to find a setting for it within the band repertoire. This doesn't sound much like our band would do it but it came out nicely, so i thought i'd share it.

a.k.a. "The Ballad of Big Celine"
What ever happened to ballads - stories told in song? The internet and TV have reduced attention spans, and long songs a la Don McLean, Harry Chapin, and Gordon Lightfoot have fallen by the wayside. If you…
Hello, Robert . I love the Ballad form. Ive noticed that a certain group of Alonetoners
are story tellers. You know who you are.
I am starting to think its about the Banjo.
Faved , This is my kinda tune.

This was part of the 'who knew' song challenge, recorded live at Colleen Dillon's on 12-09-15, with Greg Connor on guitar. Love his part, didn't edit out anything, even left the comments on the beginning and end.
(This is a story about Chilean…
It's not really a finished, polished recording, but isn't that the point of this website? Hope you like it.

Wrote this song yesterday after another long week of crummy news in the world and had the good fortune of the Minnesota song writers in my living room tonight to help me bring it to life. Greg Connor - on the cigar beat box, Colin Walterson on…
The song that led the way. I came up with the guitar sound first, and needed a song that evoked the pure energy that was coming from that guitar sound. It needed to be fast and intense. And it needed harmonies. We're full abandon 'cause it's time…

Gene sent me over this great backer and i tried to fill the vocalists shoes......this is one of two different mix's the other is over on Songcrafters ........Thanks Gene
This is a rough cut, but I like it. Here are the lyrics:
TOMORROW WILL BE YOU
It’s been a long time since I saw you
I’m at a loss for words
But when I heard the news
I went straight to your room
There’s no point in looking…
I struggled to get this thing completed. I've been sat on it for weeks, finished, debating whether I was really prepared to let it go.
I loved the song when I wrote it, inspired by a wonderful week at the end of September. But the recording…
Comments on slkrell's stuff
Very refreshing sound - but the heavy breathing reminds of someone... not sure it's Colleen though! lol
Yes I could hear Colleen breathing, and as far as I can tell, it sounds like you were far behind trying to catch up while recording.
Can't beat a good ole fashion love song.
Oh yes. I'm liking this big time. A: Sweet song. B: That guitar... whoa... Luther Perkins lives on...
Kim my is one lucky gal!
Rita and I are listening together. She wants to know why I never wrote a song about HER !

This is one beautiful song!!! You always tell such a wonderful story. Great vocals too! Enjoy the "out of doors!"
Snacks with a “special flavor” indeed!..... hilarious!!!
Is that's what living in Arkansas will do for you? You are getting some nice clear recordings with your new set up.
"snacks with a special flavour" hehe
Oh yeah. Like it. Enjoy the weather :)
This is one of my absolute favorites of all time
Ok. The weather is turning nice so I am out doors for the season . Ill be listening to you all but gonna stop uploading . see you on the back side
I'm falling off the sofa in hysterics here... love it.
Oh this is WELL COOL. Giving Mrs R a tour of the MTBottles peeps. I haven't heard Mark Imsdahl for ages and ages ... so smooth.
Rocks!
Great stuff !!! Great groove.
Sounds like you are on a roll ! Way to pluck on them strings. If you play long enough you'll work off that caffeine rattle.
There should be a "happily" somewhere in that last comment (in case she's reading... hehe)
