a very delightful, entertaining composition. Alice did a particularly tasteful job -- great delivery. Digging the sax job too. The drums are likewise well done. Some nice moves on the bass too. This really is a great compilation of sounds -- excellent flow.

This is an instrumental song I composed roundabout 7 years ago. Finally we got around to recording it with real instruments, and the band is:
Frank Zax: Guitars
Andy Gupta: Bass
Mark R. Cole: Drums:
Steffen Offermann: Synthesizers, Music…
Oh yes, like it a lot. I was thinking "very pleasant, where's it going to go? We've got another 3 minutes at least"... and then at about 50 seconds it told me.
I was sitting there taking it all in... and it finished before I knew it!
Fine job.

Thanks @JMT and @Wildgeas!
I just uploaded a new mix with Andreas Hülsen on drums. He used an electronic kit with the same samples that I had used in my version, so when he sent me the MIDI file, I was able to reproduce the original sound, just with the human feel of a real drummer playing the drums. :)
Angela Wehman wrote lyrics for and sang to my old tune "Winter In Moscow". This is work in progress (I want to replace the midi instruments with real ones and start from scratch).

Hi, Angela,
Joel, new here, and decided to comment. I like stuff like this. Sounds good. Evocative, I can't get rid of the bare branches and Gorky Park with stuff like this. I'm always a promoter of more dramatic stuff like it. I saw you mention the midi. I know these are all home setups, so it's hard to get anything. Somehow I would like to separate the voice from the low Russian register of the instrumental arrangement. Not sure how. I'd like to think somehow sing out. I would imagine that you are not much of a Soprano, but being a story teller, presiding over the background of a real orchestra, an impartial commentator of tragedy and triumph, like the beginning of Carmina Burana, or All That She Wants, by Ace of Base, clearly describing the scene. Reticent a bit, maybe. Bringing it out a bit could make it sing. Alice in Wonderland says "No personal comments", but, I guess what the heck. Saludos.
The drums in this version are electronic, but played by a human drummer.
Lyrics: Paul Dempsey
Vocals: Susan St. John
Bass: Michael Schöbele
Guitar: Cyclone
Drums: Mark R. Cole
Music & Production: Steffen Offerman
This is a remix of this song.
It was recorded in 2010, and I was in a hurry to post it elsewhere because I'm so fond of the song itself. But I've always hated the old mix - I lost the essence of the guitars and choirs during mastering because…
Great stuff, Andy! I don't remember how the old mix sounded (but I have it on some CD, so I'll probably compare it later) - but I do remember that I loved it. This new one is great too, so you definitely did not screw it. :)
A GOOD CRY

Why don't you cry
I know you need to
A tear is meant to ease your pain
A flood could come
And it would wash you
So, don't you try and hold it back
A good cry can't be bad
Why don't you cry
Come her, I'll…

Riny, that's a fabulous song. I wish I could understand more - maybe if you post the lyrics, then I can read long (I don't speak Dutch, but I live at the Dutch border, so your language is at least not completely unfamiliar to my ears and eyes).

Steffen
This was something I wrote when my Son Ethan was here, but never got round to recording it.....
Thought I would give it a try today...
Was gonna be a poem, but found it suited music.
Hope you like it.

Good to hear something new from you, Andy! Keep them coming!

Most deserving of World recognition. Well done folks.
Love the guitar sound. "There will be people you wish you'd never met." Great big sound. Great production.
Cool song stoman.
Hi, Stoman. Joel, here. Like I was saying, I like the song. Apparently, this was a fav of angela740. Newby. Keep it up.

I love the 60's vibe of this song. This could be an undiscovered song of The Beatles or The Kinks ... or even The Who. Regards, Steffen
Simple and beautiful. Simply beautiful. :) Regards, Steffen
Wonderful and melancholic - and I think everybody can relate to this superb lyric. Regards, Steffen

Not quite what I had expected from the title. This song sounds like a Native American hymn. Great vocal arrangement!
And again you sound like Harry Chapin. And your songs are no less versatile. You are very prolific. Regards, Steffen

Beautiful!
James, thanks to you too! :)
Thanks, Bethan and Terry! I think I'll have to give the strings section a little more attention mixing-wise. Expect an update in a couple of days! :)
Great listen. I love that 60s sound and style.
I just downloaded all the tracks you posted here. Great folk music - thanks for sharing! Regards, Steffen
Wow, this is even better than the one I listened to before. And that one was already close to perfect.
What wonderful, authentic song and performance! Great listen.
... TOUCH of course, not TOUGH. ;)
What I said before holds for this one too. Great retro feel with even a slight psychedelic tough at one or two spots. Lovely work! Regards, Steffen
You know your craft for sure. Really fun listening to - I love the retro vibe of your songs. Regards, Steffen
