Cracker Creek
Wildgeas Music
Hi folks,
It’s good to back after RPM and the blackout of 2010.
A couple firsts here. I recorded this 100% with the computer. I never plugged in to a computer before.
I’ve always used a Roland VS machine and burnt my
songs/tracks to SCSI CD then rip them to WAV files on the computer to become MP3s. That’s all changed now with some new equipment.
This is also MIDI. Another first for an old analog dog learning new tricks. I’m learning Pro Tools and MIDI at the same time and this is my 3rd effort at arranging a song by playing clips and loops. I recorded all the clips then pieced it together with cut and paste features. Unreal. For a guy who used to mess up a track and do it all over again, this cut and pasting stuff is dreamy.
Another first for me, Quantizing. I’m still a little rough around the edges but it’s pretty simple with MIDI and a snap to grid.
The guitar is analog, everything else is MIDI.
I guess I made it to the 21st century.
Gorgeous hot afternoon here, (paddling) pool party, homemade smoothies, wildgeas music. What a wonderful cocktail!
So,it's your first 100%computer realized work,really good!interesting ideas here.
Thanks everyone. I guess the spaghetti western thing was fun for all and that's cool.
I like how this one seems to pick up right where the last one left off... another great mix!
well, this sounds pretty amazing for someone who is just learning midi and ProTools at the same time. Very impressive.
wow dude!! Loving the new rig! I cant wait until you start to merge the future sounds with the classic sounds we all love! Great stuff man.
Welcome to the obscure world of MIDI - I still try to do as much as I can with real instruments but all those ambient textures and drum loops are so very, very useful :) Oh! and I like the track :)
Cool track Geas!! you will be churnin out the tracks now with your new technology, cant wait to hear what you do with it!!. p.s. try not to loose that live feel!!
I love the energy on this track!
Welcome to the future! This is a cool piece. kavin.
Sounds like you had a great time (and quite a learning experience!) making this tune. Congrats on putting it all together nicely!
I like it. I like that synthesizer sounding thing and the way it glides around up high too.
genius! its come out brilliantly.. despite all the 'firsts' - love how it all fits together..
Ooh a turn in ze road! Excellent!
Hi Paul, that's a really different sound there. Cute, even.
You made it ok i hope from the storm, nasty weather sucks, I read your note on no power and stuff. I use to drive snow plow in ohio years ago we got a used 5 ton army truck 601 cu. in. engine , v blade, chains on all ten wheels. In the blizzard of 1978/1979 we were the only plow on the roads in ohio for 3 days. I plowed 78 hours straight then slept on the floor of the shop for 12 hours.Wild stuff. Great tune by the way also.
It's great you got rigged up. I love that, and one day I'd like to get some cool trinketry. But garbage in, garbage out. You are one of those guys that could grab a shaving kit and make cool music. So it's all relative, bro! :)
haha. very cool Geas!!!
