I LOVE this... I got a notification that you'd posted - I thought "who's this? I remember the name, but..." Looks like I followed you when you first joined, but I'd dropped off the edge of the world by the time you started posting again! I got some catchng up to do :)
Wow. That was really great. Thanks for recording this. There's something special about hearing your own song played back through someone else's perspective.
Waldo learns about Carmen's travels and all the places she has been. He is envious of her stories.
I didn’t think about the world
As something to explore like you have
I know I’ve wasted time
Catching up on something so vast
Will be hard…
Waldo meets Carmen in a cafe in a small town. Waldo has never left the town he grew up in and she seems very worldly. This attracts him instantly.
What am I waiting for
I’ve opened up the door
Hey, I feel, something come over me
I’ve never…
Look, it's not a Letter Seventeen record if I don't end it with something like this. Plus, I spent way too much time playing with orchestral libraries all summer to not use them somewhere.
It started off so nice
A time for you and me

I developed a strong obsession with the building blocks of pop songs and tried to craft one. Unfortunately, I wrote it in a key that was high enough that the combination of the rapid-fire words and the pitch nearly made me pass out while singing…
Another song idea from a meme. Or, more accurately, a movement.
The term “Birds Aren’t Real” refers to biological “Birds” no longer existing on United States soil. After the government forcibly made the entire species extinct in the 20th century…
A tale of two songs and a unicorn. The funky instrumental meets the jazzy bits and then Megan joins in on the singy bits.
I've spent years searching for the proper female singer for my songs. I've referred to it as my quest for a unicorn…
For the first time in 13 years Grant sent me some lyrics. I added a verse and then spent the month of February waiting for the song to give me a direction. It did on about the 24th. Originally this was sunny and upbeat.
Keep it quiet kids…
Grant and I became obsessed with maj7 chords and that led to a lot of jazzy sounds. The title came before there were words and it seems about right.
Megan really made this one shine.

This started out as a joke from a meme and then, well.....
Wilsun did his best imitation of Bruce Dickenson in the bridge
Dan Upton played the heavy guitars in the bridge and the solo you like

I wrote this one a couple of hours ago.
I set up for recording, and busted a string on the Martin... GAH!!!
I tried a big ole dreadnought thing…
Comments on wilsun's stuff
Such a great number, wilsun!
I really like the melancholy feel of the beginning. The space is nice, and the synth at 2:30 is perfect.
Brought me back to 1975 and the opening of "Shine On You Crazy Diamond."
Wilsun does REM better than REM. Well crafted track.
wow. very very very everything!
This Is a knockout track!

This is my favorite off of this record, great job!
Love the ambiance and feel!

Beautiful shadows of the loveliness I've just been enjoying.
Really enjoyed this gentle, delicately haunting album. Fave track is Home (downloaded for my car playlist).
Lovely arc! Anthemic chorus melody.
They do say, never upset a songwriter. I do hope this hasn't come from a place of truth. Great song!
Such an underlying sadness - beautiful song but oh my.
Absolutely love this.
Lovely airy feel - just gets better as it unfolds. Beautiful vox.
Oh, Wilsun, what a beautiful bright hearted opener.
Really cool track
Sounds great - I’m digging this

There's something so melancholy yet outward looking about this song. Main and bg vox are great (love the falsetto sections), catchy horn sections.
I love the premise of this project! Sweet and catchy chorus and melody. The "I want you in my life" part just seems so honest and heartfelt.
Lovely closer, great orchestral, chamber like vibe.
Great vocals! Catchy hooks.
Great surf vibe, fun little song.
Love the groovy vibe. Also my fave on the album so far.
I feel seen... LOL. Really like the keyboard textures.
Clever and witty, lovely backing vocals, and all those maj7 chords! And I appreciate the DD reference.
This rocks.
Uber catchy, awesome guitar. Sounds like a song straight out of an old AM car radio.
Epic closer, utterly breathtaking in its melancholic, ethereal beauty.
The most accessible song in the set, but no less impressive. Gorgeous soundscapes, irresistible hooks and melodies.
Oh my, this is such an arresting piece; moody and dynamic.
The feels... love the chill, atmospheric vibe.
Haunting, atmospheric, and gorgeous.
Epic, cohesive, and gripping. Just brilliant!
Agreed with the other comment, very Elbow-esque, the melody and even the vocal has a Guy Garvey style to it. Excellent!
Toe tapper, this one. Nice chord changes.
Touching.
Great vocals! Raw and honest. I love nuances that cannot be replicated, it lends to a one-of-a-kind recording.
