I had another version of this Stan Rogers tune up here before. But I recently decided to invest in some nice plugins for my recording setup (IZotope). I used this tune as a learning project and it came out so much better than what I had before…

Reminiscent of Neil Young and certainly as good a song as just about any of his. Never did like his voice though. Yours works well with this tune and instrumentation.

This is an old 19h century sea shanty (or chanty) arranged around clawhammer-style banjo, with a bit of Irish whistle, faux bodhrán, and a goofy pseudo-accent to Irish it up a little. Just in time for St. Paddy's Day.

Beautiful song! I love the video. I got a kick out of your comment regarding banjo and accordion.
Great Robert, I really like this series
Love it! Where's the rum?

Bwahaha! Love it. Cool drums. The banjo at the end seals it. Thank you! Keep it real and to the point!
Love it! Short, sweet and to the point!!
Great!
Ha ha yup that's one way to approach it ,, dont
Robert . . . Robert . . . . is this fun or what? The Banjo really brought it over the top!
Yar! Great song. I want to put on a three cornered hat with a feather in it a drink way too much rum.
Rock on! :D
I had to stop by for another taste of this.
Ahhhhhhhh . . . Now I'm in the Christmas Spirit!
A shant seadys.
Nice one really cool
I had never heard all of the words to this song till now. I hear the music daily because my son watches Sponge Bob. Thanks for sharing it. Perfect professional track!
"Put him in the bed with the Captain's daughter" great visual imagery!
I d like to hear 1 chorus instrumental with the whistle forward and leading, Just my humble take. Love these tunes

I will love this song as long as love don't end!
Tight "band", simple, straight-ahead tune, from-the-heart lyrics. Yep. I like it.
B.B. Connor!
Reminds me of Neil Young. But I'd rather listen to your voice than his. Never was a big fan of his that way.
Do we have... I THINK we do have... a Rose of Las Cruces TRILOGY!! Greg you never shoulda trusted a woman who'd pick up a banjo player in a drive-thru!

It's GREAT as is. But if I had a pedal steel and knew how to make it cry...

Yum yum. Tasty!
Smile smile smile
I'm an acoustic maniac. But I love this. Very very tasty. And seriously good lyrics for our times. A keeper for sure.
That was very nice to listen to whilst sitting watching it snow and wondering why. :-)
@GregConnor - been re-recorded from scratch & 'tis needed remix. Will miss St. Paddy's this year :-(
Ah Connor me boyo, faith and 'tis smilin' I am!
Going very nicely with dessert.
I hadda go and play this after a long day with very light lunch, right as it's getting to be dinner time. Working in Prague this week - now I gotta find me a Czech greasy spoon. It'll be beer, not coffee.
Another crazy S.O.B. takes his hat off and goes, "Pilgrim, that sez it right there, yessiree." As fine a tribute to a friend as I've seen.
You know you're listening to a good song when you find yourself going "wow, that's about me!"
12-string and open-back banjo: LUV it!
You really know how to get to a guy who lives up at 59.6 degrees North latitude, don't you? Another winner!
