I recorded the vocals on this about 14 years ago. An amazing pianist friend of mine from Europe, G.Longabardi, played the piano. Jonathan Sacks from California flew to Texas to co-write the music. If you're out there somewhere Jonathan, contact…
I'm singing lead on this. It was recorded to 24 track, 2 inch tape, I'm thinking. I have those somewhere, but they've turned gooey. Sadly, it seems to go into the red during the chorus, but I can't fix that now. I have more stories about the…

Little country ditty with a "hook" :) recorded a few years ago at Boyd's in Wylie. I am singing lead and harmonies. That keyboard player is my talented cousin, Robert Nichols, who turned me onto this site. You can search for him here on Alonetone…
My talented cousin, Robert Nichols, wrote this melody and played it for me. It spoke to me, so I asked if I could put lyrics to it. He was kind to say "yes". His piano; my vocal. This is the outcome. Seems like it should be in a movie to me…

A little scratch track from a few months ago. A song about the trials and tribulations of being 11 years old. Watching Six Million Dollar Man, dodging bullies and pretending our bicycles were Harleys.
I was at a friends house and saw a little…
Second listening. Still like it. I've never been an eleven year old boy, but I have two boys, so I think I've seen them in this moment. Love when the guitar comes in. Love the vocals, too.
My first composition that uses an odd time signature for a few measures. My drum fills are also more elaborate. It's just a little tune to bob your head to, tap your toe, you know, the good stuff!
Love this bass lead and beat. Makes me want to get something done... Thanks for the comment on "That's When You'll Know". Yes, does go into the red on the chorus. This was recorded on 24 track in '81. The tapes had turned gooey by the time I could take possession of them, so don't know how to fix that problem now.
Ok, so I'm just a percussionist, and if your only tool is a hammer, the entire world looks like a nail. I get it. And I also get that our songs are our children, so we should be very careful about whom we let them play with.
When I first heard…

Dead to the World
Just a shade
A specter, a ghost
No place amongst the society of perfect being!
Dead to the World
Alien, unwanted
Not here, unseen
Untagged, uncounted
Lost, unwanted, despised, no home, no place, no Soul!
Dead…
Quite captivating in an erie way. I like the contrast between the desperation that the vocal seems to imply and the offbeat and mildly harried timing of the music.
It was a curious and wondrous thing.
One night I was in my studio adding some percussion to the "Quiet Rituals" track by Barry van Oudtshoorn, when my 4 young children (with whom I was long over-due to be tucking into bed and reading a bed…
I really enjoyed this. I always read alot to my kids, so I understand the special relationship between the favorite books and the kids and parent. And I love that you included them, still kept the artistry serious, and produced a good product.
Improvisation on congas and very fragile, clay Moroccan bongos (which my brother found for me from an African display at some zoo!). These bongos are basically clay pots with permanent, very thin goat skins stretched over the top - they can not…
When I was young, I remember dreaming about what I called "jungle drums"; I'm not sure why. I dreamed your song...long ago in the depths of some astral flight apparently. Thanks for recording it.
warning!!! this is a long 10+ min instrumental
It's a piece about 4 years old that was my first attempt at using synth voices,, I am still looking for a good one,, if anyone knows.
The music itself is a tone poem, loosely dedicated to a children…
I see you are a night owl, too. Thanks for your encouragement, by the way. Your piece, "Afternoon..", is delicious. I'm gonna turn it up several notches tomorrow when I listen again to get the full orchestral feeling...trying not to wake the family right now. I'm interested in the making of this piece. Not to sound untechy or anything, but this seems like a complicated piece for computer. Do you play a variety of instruments that are not computer generated? Do you write stuff for soundtracks or games?
Left over audio from "How to Glu"
This one is about power and resistence.. which I find to be quite sexy when I think about it.
Instrumentation: distorted and clean acoustic guitar, swords, tabla, synth, drum programming, clapping, vocals.
Yikes. I'm addicted to this. I just think this would be awesome to perform live. The driving beat, the gentle guitar, the bongos. Got to quit now..really..I'm gonna quit.

I guess I knew this would happen. Talk about creating one's own reality Sheeeeesh. End of the month and my pen has been re-fueled and I added some vox to this one, plus some lead guitar, and a bit of synth strings. I also took a shot at some…
Post RPM jammin'. I don't feel much like cleaning up after RPM. Not yet anyway. I think my little Casio took a beaten and went out of tune. I did this arrangement with just the Casio, guitars and
harmonica, hence the annoying piano and strings…
This is our little bundle of joy now grown up to be 10 years old. She took up the flute this year at school and this is her first effort in front of my microphone.
She decided on the flute after watching some vids of Ian Anderson and Jethro Tull…

I love this. Heavy enough to be interesting and current. Melodic enough to not be just another loud guitar song. I like the up-th-scale riff, the bass line, and the sincopated drum part. Needs to find a home in an action movie soundtrack.
I thought I was in the back woods, sitting in the sun on the porch of a log cabin, rocking and listening to the sound track of nature. Thanks for the moment.

Great fun track!
Lady, I love you! Ha ha ha, this great.
By the way, welcome to Alonetone, great to have you aboard. You have such a lovely voice.
I love Country at the best of times, buuut, when it's packaged like this Alexis, I'm just a wreck.
Awesome!
Brilliant and wonderful. Great song!
I LOVE the vocals.

You're funny. I just hope now that his child has had a taste of the caribbean flavor, that he doesn't go to pot.
Poor Matthew. The music sounds happy ...I'm wondering if his life turned out after all.

I loved this...started out interested and liking...then chair dancing...then gave in and got up and danced it right...Thanks I needed that.
Slap that bass. Where's SuperFly? In the basement?
I like your chill stuff, guy...especially the way this one drew me in gently and then steadily carried me through.
Trippy & mezmorizing. Took me away for a bit there. Thanks for the meditative experience.
I swear I was dancing in front of my computer. Thanks for the boogie moment (and 45 seconds).
I like these lyrics...especially the verses. People try to do this in relationships sometimes...make someone else responsible for their happiness.
