I've been missing in action for ages - apologies to all, I'm about to start listening again too.
For ages, I'd been considering a move away from my trusty Boss BR1600 on which I've recorded and mixed nearly everything…

So I got me a new geetar the other week.
Named her Lala, obviously. Seemed kind of appropriate - she wears a faded gold dress and is full of chunes and mischiefs.
This is our first effort together. It was meant…
So I was locked in the broom-cupboard, checking out some old songs that need recording.
I'd just picked one and then suddenly this thing came out of nowehere. It started with one of those guitarist doodles that other musicians love so much…

Now here's a bit of an oldie - the second song I ever wrote. In... 1978!
I think I played it once, or maybe twice, at school assemblies. My musical peers and colleagues back then dismissed it as corny/rancid pop music…

I found this one while I was digging through the shoe-box for the 1994 songs. Apparently I wrote it on 10th November 1995.
Foolishly, I thought it would only take a week or so to record... I was originally expecting…

And here's another song from 1994, with a sparkling new "Andrew Russe Band" arrangement fresh from the broom-cupboard.
Like most of my songs, it was written with an acoustic guitar, a pen, and an A4 pad. The ones…

This is great! What starts out as a super solid guitar riff turns out to be the start of an inventive arrangement and tasty guitar playing. Your voice is interesting too, and made better by the fact that you're clearly feeling it!

Guy out on the town looking for some action. Girl out on the town looking for some action. Meet in a club where cheesy disco is playing - they don't care, it's not the reason they are there. Collab with Lady Jane. Had us both laughing - enjoy.
I've been watching the new series on the Great Train Robber Mrs Biggs which is about the robbery and his escape through his wives eyes......tonights episode got me thinking about what you know about your work mates...the answer is what they tell…

A blues noodle that got out of Hand just before the midnight curfew...........trying my hand at a bit of keyboard percussion and the voice through a guitar effect........well you have to try don't you?
I've been messing about with my virtual keyboard this week, in preparation of an amazing collaboration I'll be working on soon :)
Beat and sax are from Mixcraft.
Enjoy! xox
I was in a rush when I first heard this...
But with a couple of listens this time... woo! Don't know the original at all, but this fits you like a glove. Fabulous vocal madam, absolutely fabulous...
Wish I could fave it again.
And keep messing... the virtual Jim and Don are still struggling to agree with each other at the moment lol

Take what you want
But keep your hands off my medication
I can get by without you
But not without them
And donโt you dare
Even think of taking my guitars
And donโt you care
Of the state youโll leave…
An old recording from 1997 done on a Tascam 4 track. Converted to digital from casette so the recording is warbly in spots.
I am currently working on some new songs so I decided to throw so oldies but baddies out there.
Cry (if you want to) โ Steve Harris 990211

But on the outside youโre so tough
Youโre not fooling me, enoughโs enough
Cry if you want to, cryโฆ..

This was the original version I recorded before I completely overhauled it (see version on "It takes a village album ). I wasnt crazy about it but hell I put time into it and completed it so why not post it up.
Wedding march written a long time ago for a friend and a failed marriage. The song symbolizes hope and trust in the face of fear. The composition is all that's left of that now, but, it still means something. Not our usual, so please don't…
Oh, it's fall again,
Autumn leaves are sweeping in,
Came and went like the tides.
Oh, chills on the wind again,
Eating through our clothes,
Aching our blood cells.
Oh, where is home again,
With fire in our hearts,
And love on our shoulders…

Another beauty from house of Russe well worth the wait
Great piece.
You had me at, "If I back off and shut my mouth..." Know exactly where you are. So afraid the answer is, "No."
Sounds like a 50s Buddy Holly era song. Very sweet sentiment. And, yes, I can dance to it.
Great characterization. Great kick drum sound.
WoW! Rock me, dude! Love the imagery.
Genius lyrics !

Leave the milk out of mine... This does the job, right on the money.
Oooo, I say... Nice. I reckons you needs to turn the heavy breathing up a bit though... I had to listen REALLY hard lol
Nice version. Didn't realise David Bowie had covered it!!
This is very cool. Didn't like the idea at first, but it dragged me in. Wonderfully put together.
Yeah, cool sound, fine song. Never thought I'd hear Carshalton mentioned in a song!
Good to hear a new one :) Crazy guitar tuning! Makes good sounds though.
Run out of words to say on your songs... love it :)

Rockin stuff. Love the spacey bit in the middle.
Don't know the original, but this sure sounds good.
Yummy. And she's got a nice name, too :)
Ummm... I love both versions... but I think this is the one I'd take on holiday with me.
Lovely, but sounds very sad... I wonder whether it would have sounded so sad if I hadn't read the story first?
Love the images you paint with your words.
