Thanks Chris. The pedals lower the pitch on the strings, like a tremolo bar on a conventional guitar, but one string at a time, not all. Mine is a 6 string with 4 pedals.

Totally unique sound you've developed with these BL tracks. Great stuff! I have to wonder though how this went over at a place called "super happy funland". With that name I figured you'd have to dress in a clown suit and play the beer barrel polka!
Thanks man! Your stuff is so intense...only way I can describe it...it's real and true to you. A very unique approach your guitar and the music that you generate. I reminds me a lot of something my father told me, he said he never "wrote" a song...well never sat and wrote it out...he would be sitting there or sleeping and it like a radio station turned on...tuned him into a certain channel and he would just write..I get the same thing...and something about your music tells me you do to. Thanks for the listens and comments...I am a fan ;)
The verse and the chorus are pretty much the same thing except the chorus is louder and heavier. I consider that a gimmick and a bit of a cheat, but I very often really like the way it works out. Shoot me.
The lyrics are about being afraid…
I recently discovered three songs we had recorded in 1993 or 1994 shortly before breaking up. These tracks are the only ones (that I know of) that have our new player, the only personnel change we had in over 10 years.
The title is obviously…
After not having played for a while I was inspired by a Steve Tibbetts sound and tried to recreate it and failed. This came out. The title was indeed misinterpreted words not intended and not really about this piece of music but in a sense was.
With JS Tolar, as band Visions Of Nell.
My tribute to Anne Boleyn, the first queen to be publicly executed in England. I used some of the poetry she wrote during her imprisonment in the chorus. An innocent, incomparable woman.
With music written and performed by Soundsmith Kamachi.
It was the last day of RPM and he asked me to write a lullaby for a track called Cornucopia. Very much enjoyed how easily this one flowed. That's my mum, Bee Mathis, adding class to the…
Most of the lyrics written in 1999, a tough year. Many thanks to JB for his awesome screaming lead playing (done first take, I should add!!!) and to LadyJane for supplying some oooo's. (anyone needing some vocals - send her your song!)
Decided to upload a work in progress from a heavy side project called : Lab Survivor.
I have a few things in the works coming up, hopefully including an all acoustic RPM. Finally have the studio up and running with some new upgrades :) Wahoo…
Stevie Ray is the reason why I picked up my guitar in the first place. I did my best to mimic him throughout my short 8 months of guitar playing, then I realized I was going nowhere. So instead, I sought to develop a style which would make Stevie…
Comments on Breaking Light's stuff
Very intense, love this one.
Do you like your Boss looper pedal? There are quite a few models out there - and mostly expensive - hearing your work makes me lust for one though :-)
Hey Chris: Boss RC20XL loop pedal,Line 6 DL4 delay modeler, an ibanez delay/echo pedal, Boss octave pedal, ebow, smoke and mirrors, etc.
very cool. What gear do you use?
Thanks Chris. The pedals lower the pitch on the strings, like a tremolo bar on a conventional guitar, but one string at a time, not all. Mine is a 6 string with 4 pedals.
I love the sound of this - beautiful!! What do the pedals do in a pedal steel guitar?
Wow eternal! the story that portraits out of your guitar is excellent! took me places....
As an experienced user I can find no other way to describe these mysteries. *channels more power through the broken lights to you*
soo sooooo cool:; this stuff is like very very real at times.
Thanks for the trip sir:)
Brilliant! the live tempo euphoria is exquisite!
Incredibly thick atmosphere you've conjured up here - strangely emotive. Love the solo sounds at around 3.10 - almost sounds like trad folk (IMO).
I just realized, at about the one minute mark, you can just hear my bud Charlie tinkling on a toy piano offstage.
incredible man, so much feeling here.
heheh that's funny Kirk! All 6 people in the audience seemed to enjoy it! :-) The clown suit might help...

Agree with Kirk - some lovely dark feelings here.
Cool! Really liking this particularly haunting section around 15 minutes
thanks sis, and mercifully short too!

Me too. Great little solo!
A mysterious soundtrack!
Intense!
That's a rockin blast from the past!
Got it Jim. Nice closing piece.
Yay, Jim! That looping/layering really works, approaching Tibbettsism.
Cool. I could happily listen to Bee recite the Cornwall phone book.
tangerine dreamy
Thanks kirklynch, mainly just some tape delay that creeps in about the 2 min. mark.
Nice. I would have put a bit more reverb on the vocal, but minor. Very nice, yall.
One of my faves from y'all.
Lovely. Cool processing on the vocals.
I feel lighter,floating.
Cool song and great guitar playing!
Well arranged and played. Dang!
Face melting good!
Apparently she enjoyed it..
Beautiful piece, and plaintive mood.
