I kept expecting the chord progressions to go one way and then...ZANG! Caught me off guard every time. Great tune, awesome lyrics. I’ll be back to listen again.
I found this kinda challenging at first... so I listened to it again, (and again!)... and now I'm kinda "WOW!" about it. The melodies and chords are amazing.
In nuclear physics, a magic number is a number of nucleons (either protons or neutrons) such that they are arranged into complete shells within the atomic nucleus. The seven most widely recognised magic numbers as of 2007 are 2, 8, 20, 28, 50…
I'm not playing your paper game
Not spilling my pain on a page again
Focus on the good times
Only the good times
Make way for the better times
You can't taint my name again
No hurry to blame when it goes your way
It's time for the pay-back…
but the girls is around
...
Now you're back in town and you claim that you followed the seam fingertips tight on the dream and slapped with some mission of peace but the girls is around with that hip modern remakin' sound yeah you stole it…
Said it before but I really like your work. It feels like a safety blanket, something really familiar. But your voice and the minimal, poignant arrangements make it vaguely alien.
So here is a piece which I first wrote and recorded around 20 years ago in the early 90's. For a long time it had no title, just known as "bounces along keys". Lately I've been toying with the idea of rerecording it. Then a couple of weeks…
Found a interesting sounding indian instrument via the computer world and strummed out chords on my lil midi guitar. Added some percussion, strings and a flute.
Recorded over 10 yrs. Ago on my Zoom 10 track. It was the second tune I cut just messin with the chord changes. It has a very urban vibe and reminded me of cruising lake shore drive in Chicago.
Comments on Brett Warren's stuff
I like the sound of the electric guitar…it reminds me of classic 80’s rock. Your voice sounds great. Another gem!
Crazy cool... dance jam for trippers!
Thanks, warpcanada, Tess and Proods. I appreciate it.
Great work, man. You continue to amazing me with your gift for creating new sounds within the style that’s all yours.
The Talking Heads are wishing they made this. Cool (weird) track.
And yet, weirdly uplifting!

Great use of movement. It's almost more of a tangible thing than aural, if that makes any sense.
Thanks, odh and Tess.
Great track, Vaisvil. Strong sounds, well constructed... evocative without having to do too much.
very cool track, man
awesome
thanks Fyrce, thanks tinbin. @sha-pink: ha, no, I never actually do anything that I sing about, well, mostly.

thanks, guest. guests are the best
thank you
Great track, sir. The groove slowly but surely pulled me in until it turns into a kind of cyber-noir roller coaster.
Thanks guys
This is great, it's like if Bob Dylan were to start a Tom Waits cover band.
very interesting, it's like a hatching egg, or a sprout pushing its way out of the ground. A delicate little spring of life.
cool one, ODH. Good melody, very angular type of song, love the synth and especially the piano track.
Love all the little sub-textures in this. It's like watching little organisms through a microscope. Nice one to just meditate to.
I like this one too, it has an odd, frantic, 'wide' feeling to it. I picture a rider on an open plain in some fantasy movie.
Lovely tune, James. Excellent guitar work.
I like it, kind of a Here Come the Warm Jets era Eno tune.
