Haha! Pwnd by the phone company once again. I feel your pain. The chain saw solution caught me by surprise, but sounded effective.
It would probably be a very bad idea for you to ever collaborate with ReefWalker about this topic... he has a history of many phone problems as well.

Somebody should create an album of songs dealing with phone problems on AT - a recurring theme!
This is a rough mix of a track I did with the one & only Norm Harris. I've got some vocals in mind, but it may take some time to put it together, so meanwhile here's the instrumental version. Big thanks & major props to Norm…
In the morning, when we awoke, there was nothing. There were no ashes from the fires of the previous evening. The time for decisions was past. "Yes" was the answer to all questions; and none was the knowledge retained. Wisdom laughs at such folly…
you say i got no reason
to be here knockin' on your door
i guess ya had no reason
to think you might see me anymore
hey I got some news for you
yes i do
y'know i seen a lot
of different things
through these two eyes
i've heard…

Yes, RW's sitar works very well here. Nice! I confess that I don't know what a tenpura is, but then I thought a hurdy-gurdy had something to do with a busking monkey... now I realize its a wheel fiddle, which I've never come close to seeing or hearing.
I still want one of those things with the monkey hitting folks up for change in his little cup, whatever it's called.

yes! this is great - the two of you rock together - and Hurdy Gurdy!! Awesome!! If I may be so bold perhaps a recorder or flute - or best a shawm melody would work.

I'm at work & listening to this now... still not quite satisfied with the intonation of the hurdy-gurdy (I had to pitch shift the sample I found). Reefwalker has done an excellent remix which I will probably upload this evening provided he gives his permission.

New one from me. It's ended up as a bit of a "crying into yer beer at Bob's Country Bunker" sort of song lol...
I've been sat on these lyrics in some form or another for absolutely years. I first wrote them one very dark night a few years after…
My 100th upload to Alonetone!
I played a pretty random arpeggio which I arranged into 3 versions of medium notes, long notes, and short notes followed by a gap. I cloned these version and transposed them up and down one octave respectively…

EDIT:

I finally was able to remix the song. Please listen to "Fide On The Broom Stick (Version 2012)" in my track list to compare…
Nice track! I like the added orchestration right before 3 min... lots of nice textures & layers in this one, I like it as is. The title got my attention, love the Granny Weatherwax connection.
Recorded the intro and traffic sounds on my bus ride to work two years ago. This one is urban-esque, breakbeaty, and switches up the tempo a few times. And there are fat funky synths to boot.
I haven't tried the vox pipes in a few months. I've been sickly and singing was out of the question. After 24 days of instrumental RPM, I started getting back to 99%.
Might as well sing right? Better yet , let me trash the greatest song of…
This is a piece written for 37signals, made to accompany a [fun video they did on Letterpress printing](http://37signals.com/svn/posts/2795-a-letterpressed-thank-you)
The track is best listened to in context of the video, since it's scored…
This is a tune I picked up from alonetone a while back. Johnny did a piano version of "I'd Love to Change the World", and Michael Thomas from Cave Street added the outstanding vocals.
When Michael told me he was doing the vox on it, I wanted…
I saw "the Watchmen"....got me thinking.
are we truly immortal?
will we live through the material passing
or have we died oh so close to the light
not from this earth
not bound by its laws
A slave of no one
I will move beyond

One of my heroes. Willie McTell was blind from birth and travelled all over the south in the thirties at a time when many people would never go more than 20 miles from their home.
Plus nobody sings the blues quite like him…
Final version
RPM 2011 - my first track recorded and the opening track for the CD
A kind of Old Time gospel number, which, if you listen to those pre-war guitar playing preachers, are virtually indistinguishable from blues. Except for the lyrics…
Aw, we tried to make this a bit more pro, but sometimes the really fun moments in life are fleeting. So here it is warts and all. But don't mind that - just get out onto the dance floor with Reg! It's ok: he's up to date on his shots.
When…

That's something different for you. Very cool track man!
Like it.
A little strange guys... strangely compelling. ;)
love the drone
Nice percussion!
reminds me of "nothing" off Bill Laswells city of light.... which is a good thing
Cool! Great guitar tones!
BEAUTIFUL TRACK
It certainly was fortunate for a lot of us the day Norm joined us. Now we are all unashamedly using him! This is a great track.
*laughing so hard it's hard to type @norm's comment*....That is one crazy picture you got on your profile bud. Is that your dog?

nice very nice deep forest mellow inside the cave there..
Real nice folksy tune. It has a bit of CSNY in it. I'm waitin' on the vox man. Saved, Fav'ed and turned to wav.
some Robert Plant-Zepplin IV style vox would be Killer!

Sounding good over here! No, really great!
Even better now!
Had to listen again - love the fresh folky feel! Can't wait to hear your sublime vox in this potion!
Comments made by Cave Street
Your vocals & some of your lyrics remind me of Trey Anastasio... Love the change about a minute & a half in - jamming track!!
Excellent work, reminds me of Blue Rodeo, one of my all-time favorite bands!
One of my all time favorite NY tunes (and that's really saying something)... nice one, esp. the extra bendy guitar parts - Neil would approve!
Nice one, Dave. I could never attempt this in a million years! Good work.
I'm a little late to the party, but happy 100th nonetheless! *LOVE* this track!

nice one dig the tempo change
Paul, I think this is your best vocal yet, it sounds as if you're exploring a new range! The backing vox add a whole other dimension.
enjoyed the video! well done!

cheers mate
This digs so deep today.
Too much! Great track, *love* the vocal!
Great stuff, Stu! This is the real deal!
nice track, I dig this record!

Loving the layers of sound!
Really like this one! I would like to be able to read the words to this one. All of them actually, so please post the lyrics!
really liking you album, dude... but out of listening time right now. will resume later
Great track!!! Thanks for the comments, Norm. Lyrics have been posted.... :-)
