LANCASTER STREET
Midnight in Cowtown. 90 degrees
Too hot for a blanket. Too hot for a sheet
The trash on the sidewalk is trying to sleep
Breathing the bus fumes on Lancaster Street
Sunshine brings tacos. Sunshine brings beans.
Sunshine…

James, oh, I know. Walk those woods after dark, careful not to wake the sleeping souls. I lived in West Meadowbrook. I'm not sure if you remember, but you and I met through Sunshine.
I love your song.

It's not entirely true. But it's CLOSE ENOUGH!
It was actually the 16th of February.
But we were corresponding by email on the 14th.
Then we…

I was meant to be resting and chilling.
In fact, I was resting and chilling.
But then I got a message from Lala saying she was listening to the…
This is one of my favorites ever!!!! The tension builds as though she's really had quite the trip indeed.... What really happened on the pier... Excellent!!!!!

This one was easy to write but hard work singing and recording.
I'm fairly certain this one is high on the list of "arrange me later" - I kept…
Given it's Valentine's Day ...I thought I'd write a little love song. This is Song #8 for my 2022 RPM challenge. Practiced a bit of breathy indie vocals and harmonies.
Thanks to anyone who's listening. :).
You thrill me
you undo me…
My 7th song for the 2022 RPM challenge. This one is a bit more pensive and slow moving. I always love adding harmony. I was thinking of Bjork (who I love) when I wrote it. I included some flute so my sister can play along next time we jam…
Song 5 for the RPM Challenge. Building tunes around an incessant bass line is oddly appealing to me. This is a bit of a dystopian song of sorts. Thanks to anyone who listens!
Take me to the river
and hold me under water
Bow down beside…
Title inspired by the symmetrical nature of the piece. The original recording was the sound of striking various parts of a gourd bowl (a round bowl-like thing made by cutting the bottom from a dried gourd of some sort - I don't know, it was given…

Here is a little experimental instrumental piece I had almost forgotten about....interesting experiment, with the percussion elements consisting of, amongst other things, metal hangers, door latch, scissors, paper being shaken and finger snaps!!
I should've paid attention
When my buddy mentioned
The state of all the guys you'd left behind
You looked so young and wild
With that come-and-get-it smile
You'd taken over something in my mind
When we were together
I should've seen the…
I suppose it could be worse
I know I'm lucky I'm all right
But I can tell that you've been cursed
And it keeps me up at night
So few are born to come in first
So many born into a fight
If the roles had been reversed
Would they still believe…
Some say, "It's the price you gotta pay"
Some say, "You gotta learn to walk away"
But I'm still standing in the light
And I won't go down without a fight
Some say, "True love is just a lie"
Some say, "You'll give it up before you die…
If I told you how well I know you
Would you tell me it's not true
Have you got yourself believing
No one could know you like I do
I know it's been a long time coming
So many others you thought would treat you right
But I'm gonna show you…
Raised on vinyl and a needle that rides
To a paper circle at the end of both sides
Between the speakers, cover in hand
Sit in silence after Jungleland
I will not trade one bit of my soul for their pieces of gold
I've seen a world they'll…

Very inspiring lyrics! I can hear all the anthem-esque background arrangements. Love this one!
Unique, spare instrumentation drives this. Ever heard of Maria Elena Silva?
Cool vibe, right up my ambient alley
GREAT RPM album, Ricia! Dang, so good.
Okay. This is spectacular.
Incessant bass = good. Your vocals = great.
Well, this is simply outstanding.
Thanks, Bill. The main reason for giving details of production is so that I can remember what I did later on!

Wooo. Like this one a lot. Making me think of early Status Quo - not entirely sure why. Love the droney sound of the open E.
