This song is the result of exchanging "One Line Zingers" with my friend Tom last Saturday while playing a little music.
He challenged me to write a song about him and he would do the same at my expense.
The funiest song wins.

The circling of life
The ability to find your way
Like a compass in the night
And the coming of another day
It’s like when the stars align
You’ve been given just a glimpse of truth
And you think that you might find
The Optimism held in…

What a pretty melody to bring the lyrics to life. Like we are walking down the path in the song. Lovely mandolin. Is that you on all the parts? Pretty cool

One of my first experiments with DADGAD tuning. I was hoping to get a dark, droning sound. I lived in Missouri for a lot of years and this sounds like what it feels like to be out in the sticks there.
Great Beginning! Very inviting to listen to. It just pulled me in.
Excellent contribution to the Song Writing Challenge!

My apologies to Ray Willie Hubbard. This sounds nothing like his great version of this. All instruments played by me, in studio.
This was before I discovered the usefulness of a pop filter.
Chris sent me over this track and i got to wondering what i could do to add to it. The tragedy of the Russian plane flying back from Egypt came to mind .....

Well the MN songwriters were in my living room tonight. We all shared our contributions to the "glass" songwriting challenge. Here's the live version of Poorly Blown Glass with Greg Connor on Guitar, Scott Zosel on Mandolin, Colin Walterson…
This song will touch your heart, once. Its composition is so well. One of my friend sent me this song. She made me perk up with this song. Its wordings are not only remarkable but unforgettable. Let me know your opinion for this song.
Great song! It pulled me in from the start.
Interesting Lyrics complimented with wonderful instrumentation.

Captivating song. It really grabs you and wont let go.
You have captured it Reg! Unfortunately the story behind the song keeps getting worse.
Beautiful ...................
Well done, especially with everything that is going on in the song. It fits together well.
I like that gritty slide! Nice playing!
Beautiful music for what seems like a senseless event.
Good Entertainment!
The white light coming through the door at the end gave me the chills. That's a pretty neat video!
This is beautiful. Nice work on this one Colleen! I'm amazed at the quality of recording from a small handheld recorder sitting on your coffee table.
I love that acoustic music!
Well done
You always come up with the best melodies and lyrics. I love the simplicity of this. The doubling of voice (W/Reverb) is a nice touch.
