The Sun is shining tru the hole in my heart. I am lucky to be old and grey.
Don't ask a song writer to critique anything,
they may not have found a day job yet!!!!
Great writing I like it
Pretty mandolin. This is another one of my favorites of yours. I bet there are a few in that group might even tell Eric Clapton that his chords need to be simpler...this is lovely

Ooohhh.... I remember you playing this one around the coffee table once before. I love this one so much! I'm guessing this one is on your CD! I've got to go download that right now...
Love it. I get a total sense of how great that hiking is without having to throw my back out of joint schlepping a heavy pack, soaking my aching feet, or providing culinary delights for the Minnesota State Bird!
Great to hear your new music here!!! I know that trail well and you've captured it perfectly here. I love the lyrics (as usual) - shout out to vibrate soles!!
It's not what you're thinking. They don't make shine around here no more, do they Vernon? VERNON! WAKE UP. This is an old song we used to sing on the way to church when Vernon DIDN"T KEEP FALLING ASLEEP ALL THE TIME!!
This is an answer to the question posed to me by Bethan Mathis. This is how I've been feeling this week. I'm okay. I've just come to the realization about the rhythm of life.

Right back at you .... "Been there, done that".
Sometimes I think that the more different we think we are, the more we're just the same, or at least our situations seem similar.
I guess that's the long way of saying that I can relate to your song.
Very moving, and thought provoking.
I think it's adaptable to all types of singing styles too. For example, I can see myself playing this on my acoustic guitar.
a new song finally came out of my head .....
Here's the lyrics:

come away, come away
away from trouble
away from care
come away, come away
away from sorrow
away from fear
may the cool wind find you
through a thousand thoughts unsaid
gather you in
weary day behind you
and you can lay your head…
This is "Hands Down" my favorite so far.
I love that image "May the cool wind find you ..."
And of course the Irish whistle ... well that just fills me with envy!
Music and lyrics by Brian Vaughn.
I shouldn't have to say this, but I can't stand this silence.
And I wonder if you know what i'm going through.
It seems way too common for words and acts to disagree,
But I expected more from you.
I told…
This is what the creative process looks like. The music, especially the guitar playing if unique and captivating.
The singing is different too. I think it's the phrasing that is catching my attention.
Well Done!
So I dropped the guitar into DADGAD tuning for the first time, threw a capo on the third fret, rifled off something nice, and sent it to Movement to Contact for his contribution, got it back, did some mixing...
Here is the result.
