Just like two sides
Of the same silver dollar
We’re not alike but still the same
And your big life
Makes mine look smaller
I wonder if you know my name
I wait around
You might be calling
A telephone that never rings
End of the day…
Just like two sides
Of the same silver dollar
We’re not alike but still the same
And your big life
Makes mine look smaller
I wonder if you know my name

Boy I really like these lyrics. Makes me wonder who was in your mind's eye as you wrote this. Sausage customer, or music producer, or maybe someone else entirely. I am always so amazed at your songs! Love this!
Two hours before morning light
Highway signs go by all night
Open window to catch the breeze
Helps me clear my cluttered mind
Road noise rumbling through the floor
Been on this road once or twice before
My mind is racing up ahead
Leaving…

Highway signs go by all night
Open window to catch the breeze
Helps me clear my cluttered mind

Song #2 for this year's RPM album....another one from the basement in the middle of the night. Experimenting with minimal lyrics and a lot of repetition. The song probably has something to do with how we left our home of many years last February…
Thought I'd share something from my looper pedal. One fun aspect of having a multi-effects pedal & a looper on the pedalboard is the ability to quickly create a couple of simple loops & replicate them across several memory slots, then…
I read recently that the term "gaslighting" was the number one search in Merriam Webster's Dictionary this year. So this song is dedicated to all of us who have stood up to that over the years... especially my very besties... you know who you…
Outstanding and thought provoking. Gaslighting has permeated our society lately and finally it looks like some of the people responsible might be getting the recognition they deserve.
As part of sound design for the Front Porch Players latest production “Let's Murder Marsha” I composed and recorded this theme song. It was recorded ‘in the box’ using MuseScore, iRealPro, and Reaper software.
The show continues next weekend…
We haven't been together in several months, but we had pent up creativity, and then were inspired by Bill Maher.... who gave us the hook.... "Humans Aren't Good People"
Welcome back to the MN Coffee table - Colleen, Greg and Mark!!!!
Humans…
Thanks for the great comments. It would be fun to spend an evening playing music with you in one of those "Cow Town" bars.
You asked about my musical friends, we all live in the Minneapolis area, maybe within a 20 mile circle. Covid disrupted our activities a lot, and then we all seemed to have major disruptions in our life.
My mother, for example, was on hospice most of last year and passed away at 93 years last fall. We are all coming out of the fog now and trying to get back to music. Tomorrow, Mark Lofgren, and I are meeting at Colleen Dillon's house for an afternoon of writing songs. With any luck we'll be posting something on Alonetone this week.
I volunteer at Presbyterian Homes where my mother was and yesterday we had a little impromptu concert. I played guitar along with the Activity director and one of the memory care residents. Take a listen:

Let's hope we all get much more active writing and recording this winter.
For some reason this one demanded to be written...
So here's to all of us that have been in this situation a time or two! Hugs and love to us all!!!
Feel Just Like A Loner

We share the same old food…

You paint a vivid picture right from the start. “Irish Coffee and a good Cigar”. Brilliant.
Beautiful Roger!
You got me laughing. Let's hope this isn't an autobiography. Sometimes it's hard to stay on the straight and narrow.
