Thanks for the kind remarks, Dave! I decided to check out this album first because I love the title. I'll let you know what I think in about 63 minutes!
(Lyrics posted below) A fun song I wrote with Kenneth from songcrafters.org. Its about having fun making music with friends from all over the world, connected by the internet and these great music sites that we all belong to.
I came in from…
Lyrics/Vocals - OldRottenHead (over at Soundcrafters.org). Music - Dave Berry. Recorded on Boss BR-1200, Epi Sheraton, Bass, Synth. Drums are played by me on my new Roland HD-1 (I have had it two weeks, timing is a little shaky, bloody hard this…
I'm gonna have to set aside some time to listen to this entire Lobster Man album. What have I been missing?
Love the lead break on this one - right in yer face.
Good version. I've heard so many covers of this, my favorite one is by New Riders of the Purple Sage. An old country classic originally done by Lefty Frizell but written by someone else.
A frightening thing, to go from being a man to becoming a Lobster-man.
Now Gather around me hearties
For I've got a sad tale to be told
Hoist the colors ye bilge rats
The call rang out, we were off for gold
Grog in our bellies, horn-pipes…
If you'd described this to me I'd have said it'll never work...
... but it does!
It's one of my least favourite Beatles songs (and I'm a big Beatles fan), this has made me reconsider it as a song in itself. Nice one.
I'm trying to bring him round.. but it don't look good.... his gone a funny grey blueey sort colour...... but if i remember right..... he looked that way when he came down the cellar in first place...........Elvis just lays beside him going ummm...ummum... and dribbling it must have been one hell of a night after i left....
Whoaaaaa what do we have here, insane man.......Doors meets Captain Beefheart, meets Elvis, , meets Buthole Surfers, meets Tom Waits.........meets..............flipping hell man, great stuff.
Hey man, thanks for the comments on my stuff. Don't worry about what other people say about your music, it definitely is very original sounding. Very well crafted recordings, and a sound very unique to you. You are a true original. Your vocal sounds very good here. Keep on rocking. You are onto something here for sure, if some dude can't understand what you are trying to do here, that is their loss.
This solo studio dub jam was created and recorded in about 8 hours of play time one day. As usual, it starts with a simple drum machine track, then fretless bass, then keys, guitar, then a Balinese kecak drum and a tbilat drum and finally melodica…
I'm particularly fond of the whole thing. I really love this little world you are creating with music. Vocally you remind me a little bit of the great Canadian singer Jane Siberry, sort of in the treatment of your vocals or something.
Beautiful, beautiful vocals.....it was all a dream after all......or was it a waking dream..........I just left the ground.......floating upwards........this song has a huge payoff for all who give it the time required to reach heaven............so incredibly wonderful. You have turned my grey morning into sunlight.
I walk 13 miles of barbwire just to sing my song

I walk 13 miles of barbwire just to sing my song
I walk 65 miles all along

A likable, hedonistic alien stumbles upon earth. He is forced to leave because of humanities' reaction to his arrival. He returns a couple millenia later and is surprised by what he finds...
Nice, I love the subject matter, thats a great song-story. Wild full sound here. Vocally this reminds me a bit of the Decemberists singer. Very original and even grooving.
Jethro has done a series of songs that he refers to as his 'hippie songs". These are ones where he takes old poems that he wrote in the late sixties or early seventies and puts them to music. We have now uploaded his latest called "Search For…

I gotta agree with Henner. It is your best vocal. This one suits your stripped down sound perfectly.
Can't say I've heard this before from you Dave. Without a shadow of a doubt, the best vocal I've heard from you, BB. Must be a Canadian Thing!!
