This is my stadium anthem, the one to close the show with. Everyone put your lighters (or cellphones) in the air and sing along...
I was sick as **** when I recorded it, so my vocals on it are really pretty bad. Ah well, that's rock and roll…
Also recorded when I was very, very sick...I needed to get RPM 2006 kicking into gear, regardless of the state of my voice.
This song was written and recorded on the spot. What you are hearing is what I made up as I went with the record button…
This song has a tale similar to Left Me Wondering. This was made up on the mic, both gtr and vox. Unlike Left Me Wondering however, I went back and overdubbed some backing harmonies and I also did a little extra GTR on it too.
What's fun about…
What's rock and roll without a yee-haw or war-whoop before a solo?
This ragged piece of something or other came from a riff I had laying around for a couple of years. I pieced it together kind of last minute for RPM 2006. It's not bad, a lot…
The urgency of this album comes through in all the best classic rock ways... Truly this album epitomizes the RPM challenge. Listening to this album should be a pre-requisite for every artist's introduction to the RPM Challenge.
...And war whoops are right and proper before the thrashing guitar solo.
This one is a personal favorite of mine, though it got savaged on Garageband.com. Ah well...
It has a lot of parts, lots of gtrs, and boatloads of harmonies. Actually, one guy on Garageband loved it. Maybe some day I will buy him a drink.
Listen…
Great opening riff... Damn, why didn't I get around to listening to this album sooner... Wait, I know... I was so demoralized by the fact that the album title "28 Days" had already been done (just as I was about to name my 2010 RPM effort the same thing) that I shut my computer before I gave the album a listen! Glad I didn't stick with the name... "Keeping Constant Motion" (the eventual album title) pales in comparison to this rock masterpiece.
Turn this one up REALLY FREAKING LOUD!
Written, recorded and polished off in about 45 minutes or so. Clearly my British influence shines forth in this one, right down to the SG through a Vox amp tones and backward riffs here and there. (and…
Originally conceived as a mellow-ish, Stephen Stills sounding number (at least the verses), then the chorus came to me out of nowhere and turned the whole song on it's ear. I think that was for the better. I have to admit that I surprised myself…
The horn line came first, I started humming it in the garage one very cold morning in Feb. I was stuck for a title, until a friend used Kismet in a sentence. It's a fun bouncy number, though the mix is kind of bad.
Another of the three songfight inspired titles. Painted Tense (the title) actually came from a band name generator website. I thought it might make a good song title so I submitted it to the RPM HQ person doing the name-from-a-hat picking. I would…
This Lovin’ Cup- I was watching the idiot box and just holding my guitar when this little vamp on a B chord came out of nowhere. Using the same recorder, I recorded about 20 seconds of the riff. The lyrical idea came on the trip to Chicago, while…
Nothing like the sound of a strat through that classic "brown" sound. Gritty, driving, crunchy, lovely tones...This is my welcome back, did you miss me, RPM 2008 opening track.
Allelujiah-This was supposed to be a completely different song, but this one just wrote itself instead. It’s almost all first take, except for the bass, which took a while to get straight so that it wouldn’t overwhelm the song. It has this tone…

So, I start playing my Guild acoustic. However, the strings were new and had gone all slackish, meaning down a few tones. I liked what it sounded like and took them all off. I then restrung the gtr with super heavy guage acoustic strings. I then…
If you leave me behind I'll have a crow's nest of a life
Filled with things that sparkle and flash,
Rusty nails and old tin cans
Sure, they're pretty when they get wet
But it ain't the most comfortable bed
Unless you're here
I've been…
With Big Time Operator, who originally uploaded his awesome music with the offer that anyone can add vocals...too good to miss! Love this music, and had loads of fun wailing. Thanks Chris!
Played on BBC Radio Introducing. :)

I had declared the NaSoAlMo project complete after starting the eighth song. Then I had some free time and started this cheese ball. Later I added a 10th song too. What a nitwit.
This marks the end of both of my mini-goals for November…
I have been wanting to do some Cream covers for awhile now and with the passing of Jack Bruce it seemed an appropriate time to record some sort of tribute to him and the band.
Reg was pondering the deeper questions in life tonight and came up with this little ditty...............
CAN YOU HELP ME
sometimes i get so agitated inside
feels like a ball of fire is burning inside
feels like it’s burning the very essence…
Baby can you here the thunder tonite?
Baby can you here the rain coming down, down?
Lately Ive been dreaming of you lying next to me and I realise your gone
And I cant seem to find
A way to stop these tears, from bleeding out this heart of…
This lil Hendrix tune has been in my head lately so I decided to take a stab at it. Every time I attempt a cover of one of his songs I discover something new. This time it was his uncanny sense of phrasing and harmony within a blues context. It…
Comments on Gary Fox's stuff
Haha, you were a totally rubbish choice for dinner time music! Too much grooving, not enough eating! Class act, Mr Fox!
You're tonight's dinner music. :) (Thank you in advance!)
Great album closer... First rate album, Gary. The urgency is just outstanding. This song might need some future covering.
...And another great acoustic track... Now I'm certain that an unplugged album is in order.
Great unplugged track... It may be time for an all-acoustic album, Gary!

All right... Time for a classic Gary Fox night. Great opening track. Love the driving beat, man... I can't turn it up loud enough.
This also ranks high on my list. Well done, sir. ER
I like this one a lot, too. ER
This is one of my favorites from you. When I need a lift I listen to it and play air guitar and feel much better. ER
I've told you before, but this is my favorite of all your tunes. It just plain rocks!
This is a great song Gary. Lots of cool influences...... Cool guitar work.

Awesome...
Nice feel there.
Cool track, Brett...very cool
Cool number...
I like how the bass underpins this piece. Cool...
Love the gtr tone. I also like how you place the bass in the mix. Really comes through without dominating the low end frequency range. Sweet!
Nice...love the chord stops and bass.
Great song, James!
You're really inspiring with your playing, James. Great stuff...
That is an awesome guitar tone. Nice, James...
