This composition is a remix/reincarnation of a [previous tune](http://alonetone.com/gcd/tracks/seven-flavors-of-milk) I wrote a while back. I wasn't ever quite satisfied with it and had neglected to incorporate a nifty additional bit of melodic…
Just a basic dance track because its just fun to bounce around sometimes. Also another excuse to use a growly bass sound... a "60 Hz Hum Bass" soundfont I had clearly neglected for too long.

I imagine this music playing in a bar sometime in the future, probably in the background while cybernetic bar patrons interface with one another in full view of the world's sensor network.
This is a pretty simple tune. Its been sitting around for a while because I kept thinking that I was going to add more to it or change it up a bit. That never happened, so here it is. Any suggestions or comments appreciated. :)
I have played all your tracks this morning and enjoyed them muchly. It is interesting how your material has developed over time to find it's direction and to become artistically very clever, full of textures and a great pleasure to listen to.
I believe it began here, and this is my favourite track.
I love the Commodore 64. Still have two of them. And a C-128. For me, this song captures the loony spirit of some of the Commodore games I loved playing.
I remember taking the plug off in an effort to get my kids to play outside in the fresh air instead of lying on the sitting room floor. My goodness, this takes me back.

I mostly wanted to make music with a funky clav line I'd come up with, so this is it. For the voiceover, I unabashedly used an awesome monologue by Ken Nordine.
I came up with the main bass riff on my electric bass, but after recording it I was unhappy with the tone, so I used a sampled upright bass. On top of that is a layer of doodling "lead guitar" (played on my bass), a dreamy semi-harsh organ sound…
I came up with the initial rhythmic riff on my bass, then looped it to create the basis for this track. Then, I layered another "lead" bass track on top of that, added some percussion, and finally topped it off with an electric piano-ish sound…

I wish I could say that I had a story behind this but I have none :( Thanks to all those that put their input into this, particularly GCD, I cannot overstate how helpful this was.
I wanted to hear something in a higher octave come in sometime after the drums and bass came in, maybe in sixteenth notes or something. Maybe also make the hi-hat go double-time for a bit when the melody starts getting crazy around 2:15-ish. Sounds like a good start, though!
This isn't a track per se. I made a video of progress with an instrument and this is the soundtrack. It's something of a mishmash of strange noises. That will come as little to surprise regular listeners.
The instrument is an evolution of my…
thick and hairy track stem transfer from a 16 year old multitrack tape.
i plan on doing a few overdubs and a few brutal edits in the name of a new arrangement.
i need more rock in my life.
yes, there will be vocals.
needs a new vocal, so i muted it. also plan on replacing the DI acoustic/electrics (which i don't think were played all that well) with one miked acoustic guitar and maybe a clean Tele playing a different part.
EP needs some corrective EQ to sit…
After the Alonetone meetup in Dublin, I promised Tess & Bethan I'd get my finger out and finish/upload some more stuff. So this is the first thing that's reached "good enough" stage. A trancey/ravey number featuring monotron samples after…
Bits of this (starting like 1:30-ish) reminds me of some 8-bit chiptune stuff, style-wise. (Ever listened to Anamanaguchi?) Might be fun to try bitcrushing some of your parts to see if you dig that sound. But then again, I tend to favor grit over clean sounds when given the choice.
The dissonant pad near the end (4:00-ish) seems to distract me a bit, mostly since the rest of the tune wasn't really dissonant. Feels like less dissonance there would be better, or more added elsewhere in the tune. ;)
This solo studio dub jam was created and recorded in about 8 hours of play time one day. As usual, it starts with a simple drum machine track, then fretless bass, then keys, guitar, then a Balinese kecak drum and a tbilat drum and finally melodica…
Drop-D is the dub project of producer/bass player Scott A. Meister living on Mt. Fuji where he also runs a Bed & Breakfast with his wife on Lake Yamanaka (a.k.a. Yamanakako). C-4 is a studio jam.
This tune was written on the day I bought my vintage Yamaha CP-25 electric piano and returned to hear that Dennis Hopper had passed away. I fired up the gear and cranked this out. The sound of the piano made me feel like Ray Manzarek...thus the…

This track is almost 14 years old, but is the result of me getting an hour or so alone in the KIIS FM studios thanks to my old college buddy Mike Madrigal who was doing production imaging for the station at the time. I did the drum loops (sampled…
This is what happens when I come back to a track that started being put together in a commercial radio station production studio back in about '92/'93 (post liquid-lunch "creative" time). The rhythm loops were layered then the crunch guitar (courtesy…
Found this one while clearing out the cobwebs prior to the 2011 RPM Challenge. It appears to be as finished as its going to get, sooo... here it is.
In short: a quirky love song for our cybernetic brothers and sisters who dance to a different beat.
Previously released as "a little moon music", Here, used as the background for a video i made in Oct of Great White Sharks http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iX5R3lrxmYs
This is not the typical Discovery Channel version, here i saw the more languid…
An unusual traditional tune from the first Scartaglen album way back in 1984. Going through stuff the other day and ran across the LP and couldn't even remember the tune or having recorded it. I played guitar on this track
Recorded in 2005.
Joe Silence - guitar and vocal
A very quickly recorded cover of the Neil Finn tune...I think it took 2 hours from setting up the first mic to rendering the mix?
Some guy called me back in college when I had a particularly odd outgoing message on my answering machine. He left me a message in return and I kept it all these years, finally putting it to some use.
@Kirk: Thanks! I couldn't think of how I wanted to lengthen it, so I gave up and released it as-is. (It had been sitting in my "works-in-progress" folder for about 2 years.)
@Sis: He's mostly just saying its a cool answering machine message. Maybe I'll re-use the audio sometime in something else so you can hear it better. :)

:) Yeah man!
Great mix mate very cool.
Oh yeah! I'm all over this one. Nice work. Now I just have to figure out how to cover it to fit in my "party" theme of late. = )
Let's party!
I can't get enough of this one.
very cool! he's got great tone that Nordine fella!
Beaut!
Hadn't heard this in a long time. Still a great track!
Wow. Love the moodiness in this. Makes me want to learn how to play an instrument and then how to put it all together. sixmilewide member
Very cool. Like this lots.

That looks like far too much fun.
Ha, I can almost see the bug-eyed expression on your face while you played this. :)
I bet the miked acoustic would really warm this up. With a few tweaks, it'd sound great!
There was a dance party in my ears!

Great energy! I had difficulty not bouncing around with this. :)
I never say no to a boomy bass growl like that. Love it! :)
I dig the groove on this. Nice jam piece.
Slow and low FTW.
That's a lot of barbwire to walk, but I guess sometimes you just gotta get the music out no matter how painful. ;)
That app is pretty fun. I've spent far too much time with it myself. :)
That was pretty entertaining. Sounds like it was fun to put together!
I dig it. Sometimes you've gotta give those forgotten tracks some love!
Perfectly lovely sounds. Good as-is, but would love to hear if you develop it further.
Thanks for the comments! I liked it well enough to keep listening to it, but kept thinking I was going to do more with it, hence the burial. :)
Lovely piece. Really enjoyed this.
Wonderful tune, superbly played!
Well done!
