done in 2006. simple, keeping the objective of 'spaces' throughout the recording.
certainly not the most endearing song, but i like parts of it.

Great stuff. This reminds me of music I listened to as a teenager and I enjoy it a lot. Love it when it picks up a notch at the 0:49 mark. Sounds great in mono BTW. Excellent production and mixing. Well done!
Thanks for your recent comment on my song Tuba Man.

just finished this one, represents a slightly new direction i am taking i think.
i am particuarly proud of the polyrhythmic sound i achieved. i was worried it mite become too cluttered (at the beginning) but i think i achieved clarity.

so this song is an old one, one of the first tracks i ever made. it has a long and drawn out beginning and i am not too sure what i think about it (what's new...). anyways, i figured i may as well upload it, it is jsut sitting around anyways…
I don't know what it is ... I tend to cringe at birdsong and natural sounds, but ... I really like this, why do I like this ... I think it's somewhere in the way you are working with the loops, the way the spaces between things are linked - "linked", I think that's the word - if it was a drawing it would be about the negative space - and I could say, great use of negative space - also, the way the timbres of the instruments (digital? or otherwise?) are so carefully balanced. The sounds and the shape of the track, all together ... very exciting music.

title is self-explanatory, past tense however.
i really wanted a song that had the flow, emotional intensity and unpredictability of an ocean. perhaps that's a bit cliche.

*apology for the artifacts
so this was a song sitting around for a while, didn't know what to do with...common occurrence. anyways, i wanted to create a song that had a bit of a 'grainy' vinyl feel to it, with nice, slightly distorted highs…
*totally rough
absolutely no clue what to do with this. i figured if i released it, maybe it would garner some good ideas of how to continue the song and also just force me to have it on my mind in an attempt to motivate me to finish it.

hey there ghost, We use Audacity, the free editor. we self sample, room sample, and spend a lot of time experimenting. Sounds like you do similar methods, with radically different results. evidence that our music really do say things about ourselves. Your stuff is still experimental yet has more listenability, (it's better technically) in fact it's really good.

like a cold or a victim? I am running out of time. How did you know that. Why are you laughing at me! Whoa this song took of when I least expected it to. upbeat and relaxed. like a pounding massage. lots of little cascading elements. i like.
8. I only want to procrastinate
I started recording this on 28 february and added lyrics and vocals two hours before midnight the 29th. It's my favourite now though it's kinda dumb. I started with a drumrythm from a crappy Yamaha Portasound keyboard…
Experimenting with my piano/keyboard skillz and a first attempt at record clapping. Needs a good go over with some quality drums and some better arranging. Everything sounds very "synthy" on account of I don't have any quality VSTi at the moment.
i agree with your comments on this track. you should definitely expand on this idea and go somewhere with this.
all in all, the clapping sounds great though, center field and spacey!
Traditional Irish - Arranged by Doug Sparling
The last of my traditional Irish tunes for now...I learned both these tunes on my Kirk Lynch uilleann pipes when I had them - now I just play them on guitar best I can.

thank you!
story: wings of chaos, wings of beauty. h.g. wells awakens from cyber-sleep in the "Chrysalis". the steam-driven moth-ship is now traveling slowly across an immense nebula. the engine's motoric rhythm generates the soundtrack to the view from…
Well now, this is actually a very old track, made back in March '09 and not that long after I started learning piano.
I was learning a very simple 12-bar blues piece and getting bored with the piano sound I started messing about with the Logic…
ahh, very nice. the reverb on your voice creates an amazing atmosphere, especially when considering the content of the lyrics.
i could say a lot about this track that i like, but nonetheless, great job!

funny, i'm studying as i was listening to this (or trying to). i began to procrastinate immediately as this song began. Damn you, and good job.

a true journey. amazing how my background is currently NGC6302. it made this more than surreal. your imagination is awesome.
ugh, great take on a progression tirelessly used. way to revitalize and reinvent, seriously.
