I agree with SS on this one...I still have to get around to listening to all your music. You have so many tracks, I'm going to d/l them sometimes today or tomorrow to listen to em. Will save on bandwidth for the site.. hehe. awesome song.

Thanks for all the comments! It's very nice to have such a kind audience of fellow musicians-- I appreciate the support and it's nice to have a little virtual home for my music to live freely, especially now that I moved far away from everyone I know in the analog world :-)

I wrote this song after my brother passed away a couple years ago. His girlfriend of 4 years asked me to write the music to a poem she wrote. This is what it turned out to be.
Lyrics by Annie Buller.
I wrote this with two of my friends Diego (aka Mr. Napkinhead on alonetone) and Annie. an ode to pasta since my family is all about pasta. we had fun with the lyrics. wrote it in about 15 minutes, recorded it in an hour, and sang it that night…
were you guys tap dancing in the studio or what? It's so tightly woven into the continuous bass and rhythm tracks. And then it follows with all the layered strings... yeah, this one for sure. ;)
A moody solo acoustic thing that I came up with playing in a long forgotten tuning. Just got a new Zoom H4N, so this was recorded in my shop sitting at my reedmaking bench may 12 2009
yeah, i just checked out Kirk's site. Those look like some sweep pipes! Wish I could afford your talented craftsmanship, those instruments look very inspiring!
Rough sketch of a proposed dreamy 12 string piece that I couldn't pull off on the 12 string so did this quick electric version with vocal pads. Not sure of the recording quality- sounds OK in my cans and kinda crappy on my monitors. Recorded march…
An experiment that became a meditation.
Two tracks. One guitar, one looper, one e-bow, two tracks and a touch of Live's Overdrive effect on the second e-bow track.
The starting premise was could I get the sound of many guitars by continually…
Vocals and percussion are courtesy of another recent alonetoner, K. Scot Sparks. While recording a simple guitar track in Kev's garage, things got intersting when we opened the garage door, and let the sounds of this huge flock of birds in the…
This song is a tribute to the space monkeys named Albert. They all died tragic deaths of various kinds during their forced service to the American space program.
yes! lined up like useful idiots. This track is spot on! goes from Whisky era Jim Morrison vocals to a Beck-esque groove, with a lyrical spirit of Dead Prez. MAD PROPS.
I was just playing along with a looper pedal, trying to work out some ideas for a "real" song. I was just recording straight to a single stereo track and not worrying much about my playing or the mix. But when I listened back afterwards, I thought…
this is perfect for combing through my thesis in the final days before the deadline. I can just get lost in text while the ethereal textures lead me to my next words. I love your use of trance-inducing guitar loops. turned a good friend onto this site and he is a big fan of your stuff. it's nice to have experimental musicians like you on alonetone. Thanks for uploading more stuff today!
btw- love the birds that subtly emerge through the ambience... and that synth pad that moves a half step up and back down....
you have achieved an amazing mood in this tune. props.
Comments on glu's stuff
