Had a little idea (not a drink) about an hour ago and it went straight to my i-phone! This is the first guitar / vox recording after 1 quick strum to get chords and key and stuff (oh, so technical I am) and it's 3rd fret capo (obviously) with…
Well, one of my early Uke songs. Always popular (as it's over quicker) and a firm favourite of... mine! Have realised that with some gentle persuasion it could segue into Pinball Whizz-Bang! which is still in the melting pot! Watch this space. G:)

An old riff plus a late working shift combined to allow this to happen
Premise: Rock Impresario admonishes a small boy about the 'heaviness of rock!' the small boy reciprocates about the 'lightness of life' Rock may beat scissors, but it doesn…
Stream of Consciousness again. Just pick up and play and see where it goes. Bit crackly on the vox and intro, but all intentional to give that 'just flung together' feel! G:)

A story of conflict between a couple. I played the part of the male, Shelagh (I think) was herself. Came together in the studio and was a favourite live.
A song that I wrote in the mid-90s, became a bigger number when my band 'Y' took it into the studio and we tightened it up a notch. Proud of this one (as of all of my babies) G:)

I decided to challenge myself by requesting some beats from a beat producer, Ant 'Brave Toaster' Hughes. One of the beats was named Popcorn Chicken.
I added a few bits and pieces with my virtual keyboard (including a little Blondie tribute…
Collaboration with Freight Drive Reprobates (music) and Darkarma (lyrics).
Don't think it's my best, but it's been hanging around for so long, I needed to get it out so I can move on to the next one :)
Enjoy!
More ambient experimentation with my fretless guitar and Roland GR20. This time I used some sounds from the magnetic pickups as well as the midi pickup. Kind of a cheesy synth patch I know, but it was working for me!
I wrote this little ditty back in May, did an acoustic demo and then played it to one or two people. I always meant to do something a bit more, er, "expansive" with the thing... So I stuck it in the corner for a bit and forgot about it.
Been…
Love your sound and voice - am trying to get my recording equipment up together to improve my recordings - serious and comedic stuff - keep up the good work. G:)
Wrote this after hearing on the radio of a bloke who ran off to France with his underage girlfriend and guess what? he's doing time (asshole) Thanks to Lady Jane for backing vocals
Writing this song was a very cathartic experience. This gamut of emotions took place in just one week - last week.
Unfortunately, I couldn't sing the first word without it sounding ridiculous, and so I decided to get back to my Northern roots…
After lots of chirpy, upbeat stuff coming from me and Jip, here's some misery - oh yes, and some rapping - oh! and a little bit of swearing! Well, there wasn't much else I could do with it.
Enjoy, as much as you can, and I'll get back to…

'Poem Me' and 'Soton songwriters' group working together to create and enrich. This is Gill Stanley's poem put to a musical backing at the behest of Lisa Thorne. Yay!
Just me and my acoustic.
I've just learned how to record both at the same time.
I didn't know this song the day before this recording.
It was done in one take, with dodgy guitar playing, wrong lyrics and sore throat :)
Music: Jip
Verse lyrics: Mark Goldsack
Chorus lyrics: Lady Jane
Lead recorder: Lady Jane
Vocals: Lady Jane
A wonderful collaboration that came about by Jip and Mark sending me music/lyrics totally independently and me having a eureka…

First new one from me in a long time.
Kind of a love song, I guess.
Recorded in my new "studio" (3rd bedroom in the new house). Almost up and running now... shine and don't stop wondering!

Next in the little pile of songs from the shoe-box. This one has the date 27th January 1994 written on it, but it's describing an episode from many years earlier when I was, I'm guessing, something like 12 or 13 years old.
I had to go to a…
coool guitar! nicely-pitched vox. humour, I like. nice progression. poignant and heartfelt. stopping listening before the end, as I don't want to cry at it. G:) thank you.

Nice one. Are you saying that "stream of consciousness" means while the record light was on? If so, quite stunning.
