There is an outfit that hires Latinos to push these little wheeled boxes (some are actually tricycles they ride) cooled with dry ice and filled with all flavors of popsicles that they sell for 50 cents. At some point it became…
Well, it's like I went down town last night to see Guthrie playing with Ray and I came home with a song.
NOBODY KNOW ME IN TOWN ANY MORE Capo @ 1 in G

He can’t hear the music that’s sweeping…

PORTAL and HAPPINESS and TIME are three of the songs on my new CD, EUREKA. Short pieces.
TIME
There was a time when I figured my Chevy van would last forever
I guess that was back when I was about thirty
And there was a time when I thot…
key of C - no capo
We listen for years for words to explain ourselves. "I'm good but not THAT good," was such a moment for me. Good enough to stay in the game but never good enough to win.
Last night I kissed somebody
I kissed somebody…
In the corner stands a guitar that plays only sad songs
Give me when a friend lost his wife
And this fine leather jacket came in a package
The day after he took his own life
In a bar down in Austin, he was drinkin' and boastin'
This ring…
Well, I was up on the ladder cleaning the leaves out of the gutters and this song came to me. What could I do? I climbed down and wrote this song.
YOUR VOICE
G Gyp 4 Bar 5 Gyp 5
I hear your voice and I go…
ROCKING CHAIR
Well, I got one on the porch and I got one in the den
And just enough umph for the condition I'm in
I sit myself down and close my tired eyes
And I lean back. Go for a ride. "Rocking chair."
I rock off to sleep and I dream…

This lady at the Tap-In in Grapevine said she didn't like this song. She asked me if I really feel this way. I said, "Not right now."
BORN
I curse and complain when I hear that refrain
They say. "Happiness comes from within."
If we are…

One night after three month of no rain, as we were driving home from singing at Gringos in Grapevine a splash of water hit the windshield.
I said to myself, "Sweet Rain."
I went home and wrote the song. It's on the soundtrack of a movie called…
Like anyone who happens to look, I see the signs of a failing economy all over the Country. This song is a effort to encourage folks to struggle for a more open and equitable system for the financial benefit of all of us.
This was written in 1983. Used as backing music for a dance project in Ft Collins, CO. There is now a lyric and a melody. This version is a serious jam.
Your music has a very interesting over all sound. The way you put it all together. There is a smoothness to it. Gentle. Harmonies, very sweet. What kind of program are you using.
A bit of nonsense maybe ?? Started off as an instrumental then these words popped out. Call me lazy if you must, but couldn't think of more !!!
C'est la vie !!!!
When we sat down to work the demo on this tune, Matt already had the guitar layering and arrangement worked out--including the wicked long intro. The lyrics are based around something my wife and I did when I was away on business. When I called…
A song about taking the time to raise our kids instead of letting them do what ever they want. I know, I know...shut up old man. Go ahead, you can say it. It's a rocker that we had a ton of fun producing. It's the only track that Matt says anything…
Great guitar sound. Nice mixture of keys and guitar. Nice when the low keys come in. I like the way you change the pace at points. Very the tempo.
Echos of some of my favorite Chopin passages. Just a lovely winding trail. Close my eyes and just drift along. Wonderful combining of guitar and keys...I'm repeating myself. Great change/refresh at 5:30.
Baby can you here the thunder tonite?
Baby can you here the rain coming down, down?
Lately Ive been dreaming of you lying next to me and I realise your gone
And I cant seem to find
A way to stop these tears, from bleeding out this heart of…
An instrumental based on the Arabian-major scale, which I got from Mike Chlasciak's "Exotic Blood" column in the Holiday 2013 issue of Guitar World magazine. Hope you like it.
Asthma is thought to be caused by a combination of genetic and environmental factors. In other words, they don't know what's causing it. And haven't been able to come up with a cure either.

This is one of the many songs going round my head from when I was young. No idea whose version I heard and used to sing along to back then, but it was written by Larry Collins and Alex Harvey.
(EDIT: Done some research. It was Dottie West's…
Nice version of a great old song...
Alex Harvey is regarded as the writer around here. Saw him at the Rubaiyat in Dallas back in 1975. More recently , at the Blue Bird in Nashville. He just came in unannounced with his buddies and sort of took over the place. Tanya Tucker was 13 when she recorded this song and it was what made her famous until she got too into her Elvis thing. Then Married Glen Campbell and that went real bad.
Found this old track while backing up my hard drive. It is an alternate tracked played at a slower tempo. I added a quick drum track and ruff remix this morning.
What a funky track. Love it. Really summons Hendrix...
Oh, and while I'm here, what did you mean by, "Nice response to what Adelson is calling for," on FORESTS OF IRAN?
Comments on James Michael Taylor's stuff

You're a star to many, JMT, know it or not. But I know that feeling ...
I'd like to come with you sometime, maybe it'll give me inspiration too. Love your lyrics, and chorus especially, but it's all great.

Master of the perfect delivery. Wonderful stuff.
Well, that may be so, but you've still got it.
Beautiful melody here, funny how things come to us. Sweet lyrics too.
This is awesome!!! I wish I'd done this one.
Well, I have to give you credit for the unusual subject matter. Very well played and sung and great lyrics too.
Another great tune. You could do any of Neil Youngs stuff to a T.
Great tune.
Nice work JMT!
Good to see you back here, James. Great songs as always!
I love this track, and Ms Taylor's voice.

Yeah. Great guitar work. Production really rocks.
Very nice. Like a continuation of CITY OF NEW ORLEANS
Is that you on electric guitar?

Beautifully done.
Great guitar sound and mix. So clean. What are recording with...program? (pyropool@earthlink.net)
Your playing is so clean and bright. Are you mic-ing your guitar? So wistful.
Soooo pretty with a touch of sad.
So bright and sunny. Makes me see happy lovers playing on the beach. Children playing in a park.
Nice sentiment. Unity thru common vision.
You guys really have that ZZ tightness... My son is too good to play with me.
What a happy tune with just one little cloud. A great little sing along, "blue sky, clouds go by..."
Owie! No beating around the bush here.

I really like this. Wish you would mix the voice up in the mix. Really engaging groove. Great blend of sounds.
Love it. Immaculate.
I hear this with a cool bass line and choir. Maybe I download it and show you what I mean.
