Had written this one many years ago. I had it recorded originally in a different key and with different instrumentation but it I just was not happy with it. I deleted the original lyrics for the chorus and added a bridge section and lyrics. I could have went many different ways but this one I think captures what I envisioned.
As of 8/28/12 I uploaded a remastered version for anyone who had listened to it prior to that date.
...something very Dylan about it. Especially like it where you break it down to just your voice and the arpeggios.
Really like this one. So many references. The Band, Queen. Nice vocal. Love the progression.
I wanted to listen to this again after hearing the original...a wonderful tune with any arrangement!...Thanks James
terrific........nice choice going without the reverb last verse...makes ya listen....keyboard violins??...whats that sound???
very, very fine,, great story/lyrics,,musically i really like your mix, bet your a Simon and Garfinkle fan..... well done!
Well, it sounds very "now". I love folky strings. Really lovely vocal too.
Oh, gorgeous. Agree with David about the Celtic flavour - and I love the 'coming home' feel - super sweet vocal also.
Top class all round. An excellent listen
Yep sirree... Love it. I'd love to hear how you were originally trying it as well. It sounds like a song that could benefit from all sorts of approaches (well, what song couldn't). But I like this string arrangement.
..nice one James - it has a lovely Gaelic flavour to it..
