The theme for Improv Friday this week is "variations". So here's an improv reconstruction of the one classical piece I know, Bach's Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring.

Ditty #10 for RPMC. I really had a hard time trying to come up with the final track, so I fell back on the old loop/delay/ebow improv formula, which I had hoped to avoid on this album. Kind of acoustic Breaking Light. Well it crossed the finish…

Song #2 for the RPMC. My goal is to have 12 short tunes (1-3 minutes long), so I need to pick up the pace.
Again, quartal tuning on the top 3 unison pairs of the 12 string. I've been listening to Ralph Towner's Blue Sun, hence the title.
Straight ahead stone city electric blues for an old friend who used to spend hours spinning BB King and Mike Bloomfield records for me. Recorded back sometime at the end of 2006 on old analog equipment
Solo acoustic guitar recorded January 2nd 2009. Hope to do a longer more developed version at some point ,but for now just a short version to learn more about using new DAW software.
this is a song by my niece Clara. She's 4. the lalalala's are Noah's (6) contribution.
Recorded Christmas day 2008.

That's a cool audio experiment! Ending is a bit abrupt.
Thanks CE. A little delay and metal slide on the low strings. The "whale song" is reversed in the middle of the song.
Bon voyagee!
Some soulful playing there.

Dang, that's hot! Great chops!
This is perfect. The vocal, the guitar. And the fret noise is integral. And the minimal lyrics say so much.
Love this simple, traditional sound!
Can't wait to hear the long version!

Thanks for including tunings in yer comments. I'll try some of these.
This is great. Love the layering of the guitars.
