Quick recording of a new set of pipes I'm working on. Long winded explanation- prior to the late 19nth century most Irish pipes featured very small bores and finger holes and were pitched well below modern concert pitch. I've always loved them…

More ambient experimentation with my fretless guitar and Roland GR20. This time I used some sounds from the magnetic pickups as well as the midi pickup. Kind of a cheesy synth patch I know, but it was working for me!

Solo acoustic finger picking thing I've been working on for a while. Sometime around 1968 I started studying with Mr. George Bennett who taught me the rudiments of finger picking. Later when we played some gigs together he also taught me the rudiments…
Another Live performance with former band mates in Scartaglen back in 1988 on the NPR show Mountain Stage. This time a piece of Gaelic mouth music followed by 3 reels. Maybe the most complex arrangement of a set of tunes that we ever did.
great sound. Very lively and engaging. I may well have heard this 'live' on the radio as this one a show I listened to frequently back during this time.

Didn't sound cheesy to me. Besides, I was very drawn to old-skool patches when I could do it on my kurzweil. This is a beautiful and relaxing piece and didn't 'feel' like five and a half minutes. Much enjoyed.
Maybe I missed a career scoring for no budget spaghetti westerns, because this is what this reminds me of. Done live a couple weeks ago with the Taylor and a floor full of toys and loopers.

A bit of improv done yesterday with my newly refurbished fretless guitar. Finally got the midi pickup to track almost right! Part of the sounds were gotten by rubbing a teaspoon on the strings.

What happened after too much time on youtube watching live vids of "voodoo chile" Noisy obnoxious and very cathartic for me! Live to 2tracks with the Jamman

Red string of fate... Go look it up!
ONE RED STRING
One red string
Forever tied
Through everything
I’ve ever tried
You can always bring be back to life
Just by coming ‘round
There’s something magic in your eyes
Or maybe something…
A song I wrote after President Obama's first election. I was so proud and hopeful. Not only the 1st Black President, but also the first from Hawaii!! I was just as moved and proud this election, with the added bonus of this being the first…
January challenge songwriting fun...
WATER UNDER WATER
So near the surface
So near the end
So near the purpose
Time and again
Just barely breathing
I’ll need you when
I’m floating in the water under water
Holding on loosely
Without letting…
This is the closest I'd get to psychedelic rock, I don't even know what to call this kind of song, to be honest.
Technically this is a redo of an old demo song of mine, but of course things grew in the retelling.
The rock section of the…
This originated as a poem sent to me by Rose Kampton, morning the loss of her father. I turned it into a prayer and put music to it. Then when Brook drowned it became something altogether else.

Ok, this is the full length version, so far, until the new tweaks have been done, but it's a nice reminder of cool things that can come from improv and jamming. Bass (Pete Burke, i.e. myself) and drums (Marty Boot) recorded from a jam to level…
