GOOD-BYE
I don't want to say good-bye
But I have to go
Catch the train that's heading West
Do another show
I don't want to make you cry
There's no other way
Give your weary head a rest
Carry on the day
- Don't know how to say good…
GOOD-BYE

But I have to go
Catch the train that's heading West
Do another show
I don't want to make you cry
There's no other way
Give your weary head a rest
Carry on the day
- Don't know how to say good…

ASTRAL PROJECTION
Out of body, separated, as I travel on, ascending high, a photon in the realm of light between the here and there, and twix the now and then, beyond the worlds of suns, with angels, cherubims, I loosen not the silver cord…
excellent song,.. these lyrics make me think. thinking about how that silver cord I let go of long long ago.. :) most interesting song but maybe I should never let go of the astral umbilical cord back to ground and my body .. ? I will never know.
FEEL THE TIME
Feel the time is rushing by,
I feel the time is near
Feel the time is crushing down,
I feel the time is here
That is how the world goes round,
that is how it goes
Just a question, when and how,
and that no one knows…
My approach was to leave Greg as the major part of the equation. This is why I didn't make the bass too prominent, why the electric guitar is soft with much space in between, subtle keyboards, and my voice kept in the background. What I added was a bit of seasoning -- this version is still very much the magic of Mr. Connor.
"Hold fast to dreams
For if dreams die,
Life is a broken-winged bird
That cannot fly" ~ Langston Hughes
DREAMS
Hold on gently to your dreams
Or else your dreams could die
Like unto an injured bird
For battered wings, they will not…
My bird wants to soar! I've been holding onto her for a while just petting her and admiring her but she really wants to fly high! I just don't want anything to happen to her or to lose track of her.
This recording was revised 8/7/2014 with sound effects (train and whistle) and wah-wah guitar.
WRECK OF NINETEEN THREE
People listen to me tell you
Of the story of a man
Roamed the country in a school bus
People called him Danville Dan…
Vocals by Greg Connor, lyrics by Connor and Merry Bear, music by Bear.
And y'all thought the Hokey Pokey was what it was all about! This song is 4 dimensional – up/down, left/right, in/out, now/then. BIG THANKS to Greg Connor for fabulous vocals…
MID SUMMER
A mid-Summer's night's dream
The days are slipping by
Amid the rushing stream
I take the time to cry
The end is hurling near
I stand with open arms
I sing the tunes I hear
While falling for her charms
She is why I'm…
WALKING ON THE MOON
See the Earth on horizon
Watch the Earth as she's arising
I hope the living are gazing
I hope the people are loving
Feel like I'm walking on the moon
I think I will be on there soon
My body's going to set me free…

MAD AND SAD AND SCARED
I just want to get by for a friend
This is not how I would want to end
Mad and sad and scared
In everything I've shared
That is all I leave behind me
This is all I am
Hope I find a way
To kiss you every day
That…

I had a wish to sing along with Greg, so he offered me a piece of his Cherry Pie to sing along with... I added a few other bits here and there as well. Thanks Greg!!! This was a fun one for me... added some piano and a teeny bit of percussion....
A beautiful, gorgeous song, with a tasty, powerful bass, a cool strumming technique, great vocal delivery, intriguing lyrics, and sweet picking. Far out job, Man -- Rock on!
My friend, George Sluizer was making a film DARK BLOOD with River Phoenix and asked me to submit some music to possibly be used in the movie. He didn’t end up using this but he did use four other of my submissions.

Psychedelic, rich in groovy colors and flavor! My kind of thing. I'm really glad you went there. Alert me if you have anything else like this one in your collection. FAR OUT!
Ambient, building electric guitar instrumental, something like a cross between the late great Gary Moore and some softer stuff by Allan Holdsworth.

A wonderful, delightful, moving compilation of sound. Epic, delicious, colorful, textured. Gripping, effective -- it swirls about you like warm water, then wraps itself about you like a comforting blanket. Bittersweet, choice guitar work near the end.
STRING THEORY
A little playful and teasing sigh
A little twinkle in your eye
You’re a Devil, temptress, I am helpless
In front of you
On and off again
I’m your little plaything
Up and down I go
Puppet on a string
You let me go and…
JESSE JAMES performed by the late Danville Dan (Frank Koehl) (rhythm guitar, main vocals) and also posthumously featuring his son, Gene Eric Mann (Rick Koehl)(chorus vocals) and his grandson, Robster the Rock Lobster (Robert W.D. Koehl)(chorus…
This song was recorded by my father, Danville Dan the Singing Hobo. I and my son were posthumously added to the original. Even if you already heard it, come by and give this 3 generation number another listen. It was reprocessed today for more reverb and stereo effect.
This is an IDEA or blueprint for the solo of a song I wrote called the same 12 steps. It's just a snippet and it's unmixed but it's just so pretty to me. This was one take on each track (backing/lead) but I think alot of the reason it turned…
The brevity of this makes it perfect for the intro/theme music of a TV show, and the style would suggest a show about family and love and growing up, like "Wonder Years."
Muriel Jeanne Skinner promised that if it were possible she would come back from the dead to

Powerful lyrics, man. Something all of humanity should be able to relate to; Buddhist, Christians, atheists, whatever their philosophy and beliefs be about a hereafter. So we're all guilty of silly thoughts sometimes. I'm glad you had the courage to express it in music and poetry for the rest of us.
Wow. The music and lyrics, both heart-breaking-ly sad but so real and true. Good poetry and appropriate music. There's pain there, but it's a beautiful composition nonetheless, and the voice is seriously real. Great job!
With Big Time Operator, who originally uploaded his awesome music with the offer that anyone can add vocals...too good to miss! Love this music, and had loads of fun wailing. Thanks Chris!
Played on BBC Radio Introducing. :)

Dude stole my guitar
so I wrote a song about him...
BICYCLE EDDY
Bicycle Eddy, he rode at night
Had no fenders on his bike
Had a brown streak up the back of his shirt
Eddy don't care. "It's just dirt."
Bicycle Eddy, he slept all day…

Great song!

The music expresses your pain better than any words alone could. I feel your hurt now. Damn, man -- ouch!
I just read the lyrics, and I'm commenting before I hear the music to say, wow, you really have a gift with words.
That banjo in the distance is just too damn cool!
One of the prettiest version of this song I've heard yet! Great job, Colleen!

The multiple vocal tracks works for me. Sultry sax. Intriguing lyrics. Sweet lead guitar break. Choice composition. Rock on!
