As slowly I recall
These letters sent to you
As all things come to pass
I anticipate that I'll leave
This world for a new
Waiting for the letters that you'll send
Civil War
At 300 strong
Into the heart of Dixie we roam
We might be…
Oh, nice rhythms happening here.
1:00 mark... heck yes, man. very tasteful indeed.
I keep thinking, "this is my favourite track so far," until the next track starts. These songs are in the perfect order. This album really grows and unfolds and gets thicker and wider and ...
what is happening at the 2:30 mark? That's bloody awesome man. I didn't see that coming. Too good.
YES! That is a really great, looming, oppressive bass line.
Excellent use of winding and interweaving guitar parts, cycling between the wah and clean bits.
The 2:30 mark is great. Really intense. The way that part rolls on until the release at 3:00 is perfect.
Love the way the drums roll in at the :50something mark.
This builds really nicely. Great backward bits too.
Yeah. That's a very nicely laid out piece of music, right there. Excellent come down. That acoustic foundation lick is really infectious.
still one of my personal faves. - although i'd wish to redo some parts, i'm stuck with this version, since i don't own one of the synths used there anymore..

Not by a long shot! Trust me i use VERY basic recording equipment. Even my cakewalk program is like 5 years old. Half the time when I use my computer I cross my fingers to make sure is dosen't crash!!
I picked up on one of Norm's wonderful grooves.
I added some bass, guitar, horns, and a basic drum track. Kicker and snare with a few cymbols. I didn't want to walk on Norm's fine, fine, percussion.
Thanks Norm for allowing me the opportunity…
A second version with the initial lead guitar standing alone...a little cluttered after a few listens and some constructive feedback!
Norm's Groove for St Monica inspired this one. Thanks Norm!
Lead Guitar, bass guitar and acoustic guitar…
We originally wrote this song on a cheap home style kind of a Yamaha keyboard and a pair of Cobra walkie talkies. This studio version is much better. We kept the bleeps from the walkie talkies.
(response) that song is going to be the begining of the album (maybe). You nailed it again, but really the whole song needs work. I imagine it will be December or next year by the time i get this little project done. It's only ten tracks but i'm trying to blend each song together, into one story line. The vocals are going to just be placed here and there all over the cd, and the music will go from electric guitar, to acoustic, to distorted, and looks like a friend of mine is going to do some 8-bit stuff for the end. Which will be the same notes and key as the first just done all in 8 bit samples. Anyway, this is the hardest cd I have done so far.
last eve there was a beautiful moon
dancing in a blue black sky
outside my piano room, it called to me
this tune is a one take playful moment, loosely based on the main theme from the 2nd mov of my piano sonata,,, i only toned down about…
The drums on the Coffee with a little sugar song are all Norm. I took one of his drum beats and added some bass and guitar. All of my other songs are done with synth, using good real/digital/ samples and the program fruity loops.
Similar in feel to the other Fragile Moment track. Mostly acoustic guitars recorded sitting in my shop on the H4N and then finished up in Cubase just this morning. September 9 09. Maybe a nice one for bedtime
More stuff from the ancient archives rescued from the same cassette tape as Last Nights Fun. This time a set of 3 Irish reels Live at a concert back around 1992
glad you like that one, really i'm just messing around, I have a few new electronics and I can't figure out how to get a solid sound out of them. Well there is a manual, but.....it's 200 pages long. I will read it eventually but the best way to learn is to just try different settings.
If you have the fever and the only cure is more tambourine, here it is.
MORE TAMBOURINE SOLOS!! (But you should probably wait until you have the house to yourself...)
Quick live recording on my buddy Jim's guitar while visiting him in Portland. The song hopefully speaks for itself. Eastern Europe gets me every time...
I had some lyrics describing a late nite cake baking experience kicking around. If I have a lot on my mind, dirtying every dish in the house seems like the right thing to do.
I stole some cool percussion from Norm and went to work. I also…

Still love this one
Chilled....worked perfect, great mix too! What kind of equipment/programs do you use to record? If you don't mind me asking.
Glad you liked that one!
