August 9 - 1-hour skirmish (I cheated a bit and ended up taking 1.5 hrs., but I did have the song in the hour). Prompt: “I’m so ….” Tossed around a few ideas then this came. Used the fabulous internet to help me come up with 1964-ish ideas (and my memory as well - yes, I was alive in 1964 but a youngster). This was a fun one. No bass part yet.

VERSE:
Kennedy’s gone, The Boston Strangler
Gulf of Tonkin, Vietnam
Civil Rights, LBJ
Jimmy Hoffa goes to jail
Reverend King and Picasso
G.I. Joe and Barbie dolls
The Beatles and The Rolling Stones
On Ed Sullivan’s TV show

CHORUS:
I’m so 1964
Still see everything in black & white
I’m so 1964
You know that means I’m always right
‘Cause 1964 is when
The world began to change
There’s still a ways to go yet
So I’m glad, oh so glad
That I’m so 1964

VERSE:
The U.S. war on poverty
Go-go boots and mini-skirts
An Oscar for Sidney Poitier
Mandela sentenced to life
Ford Mustang makes its debut
D.C. folks can now vote for prez
Dylan sings “The times they are a-changin’”
And we know they truly are

CHORUS:
I’m so 1964
Still see everything in black & white
I’m so 1964
You know that means I’m always right
‘Cause 1964 is when
The world began to change
There’s still a ways to go yet
So I’m glad
That I’m so 1964

Saved!
