Waterfall (acoustic gtr/vocal demo)
July 11 - The Skirmish writing prompt is from titular…use whatever inspires you all words or just a title?:
“stubborn routine of the ohio
banks, nails, losers
robinson : twinkle waterfall
five (orpheus)
thought nocturnal”
I just came up with a story where I could use some of the words in the prompt. This one came quickly, my son is a huge Civil War historian (he’ll graduate next spring with a history/political science degree - proud papa!), so this must have come out with some of his influence on me.
Prompt words used: stubborn, routine, Ohio, nails, losers, waterfall, nocturnal
VERSE:
Captain Robinson
Sent me on my way
He knew I wasn’t a figher
And made me leave today
Southern Ohio
On the march to Gettysburg
A few of us left behind
We didn’t have the nerve
PRE:
Were we losers
Stubborn as nails
Creatures of routine
Would we have failed
In battle
CHORUS:
Waterfall
In this nocturnal summer
Waterfall
Where my heart started to flutter
When I thought of her
Waiting there for me
Waterfall
VERSE:
Then the morning came
We were up at the break of dawn
Were we AWOL
Our unit was long gone
Sittin’ on that river bank
We knew we couldn’t stay
We weren’t deserters
But we all felt that way
PRE:
Were we losers
Stubborn as nails
Creatures of routine
Would we have failed
In battle
CHORUS:
Waterfall
In this nocturnal summer
Waterfall
Where my heart started to flutter
When I thought of her
Waiting there for me
Waterfall
