October Sunshine
Another superskirmish 1-hr write. I hosted this one, the prompt: “October Sunshine” - had know idea which direction I’d take.
V1:
The leaves started changing
Beautiful red and green and yellow
It was a crisp early morning
I didn’t think I’d make it through
It was time for rearranging
You were there with that other fellow
I should have been in mourning
But I didn’t have a clue
CHORUS:
Gonna sit outside
In this October Sunshine
There’s nothing in this world
I’d rather do
And I’ll be teary-eyed
In this October Sunshine
’Cause it was just like this
The day that I lost you
When I lost you
V2:
With the cool wind blowing
I could hardly feel a thing
Clouds in the clear blue sky
Our lives were changed forever
Couldn’t get the anger flowing
I should’ve felt a sharpened sting
I didn’t even wonder why
No hurting whatsoever
CHORUS:
Gonna sit outside
In this October Sunshine
There’s nothing in this world
I’d rather do
And I’ll be teary-eyed
In this October Sunshine
’Cause it was just like this
The day that I lost you
When I lost you
