Isn’t Catalina Island where the Great Whites migrate through? Yikes!
rpm #7,, i think this will be the overture, to a small midi orchestral suite, which i hope will finish up as my remaining 3 pieces for this years rpm, but well see how that goes,, thanks for all the helpful comments i have received on this project…
an overcast rainy day here in south calif.. i sat at my piano in the morning and this just sort of sprang out on the keyboard... since im learning about electric guitars this feb (for rpm) i spent the day playing with different amps and effects…
A long over due changing of the acoustic strings led to this epic production. 40 tracks and 34 plug-ins. Good Gravy that's a boat load of tracks. All kinds of stuff happening.
Enjoy!
you spend your days and your night times
bustin' ass…
really very cool,, not to mention excellent,,, i am interested in the number of plugins you used,, what program/s are they from? i would like to move a little in the direction of this type of music...so perhaps you might have some advice??,, yes there is a lot going on!!!!! really a great piece Richard
This is a microtonal Jazz-ish piece produced with some newly developed techniques.
Norm Harris provides the excellent percussion. I probably could have made it easier on myself by not being so chromatic… but there it is.
The piano, bass…
very cooooool,, excellent playing as usual!!, i just came back from 6 miles in 90+, ice cold water and your music are perfect, i like the way you change tempos
A good friend of mine Harris Kidd filmed a short piece of work starring my other great friend (and my drummer) Zay Brignall, anywaaays he asked if I could make a soundtrack for it soooo I sat down and watched it over and over and started plunking…
If you have the fever and the only cure is more tambourine, here it is.
MORE TAMBOURINE SOLOS!! (But you should probably wait until you have the house to yourself...)
Just another time traveling love song from your ole Uncle Paul.
Mostly MIDI synths and some analog bass and screaming Ibanez.
Drum loops too. I was going to drum it, but these two loops really kinda drive it along.
Enjoy.....

really nice your voice and the synth backing you go together very well,,, great lyrics,, something about this reminds me, makes me think of the Moody Blues,,, are you a fan of theirs by any chance??? anyway,, very well done!!
After writing this song about our newly adopted dog, I asked Kavin if he like to play some slide guitar, knowing that he would come up with something terrific... I just had no idea how terrific.

This is one stereo track of 6 conga drums tuned, by ear, to roughly a chromatic scale (I don't know which one - perhaps I've gone micro-tonal!) coupled with a single track of ad-lib quinto (the high drum) and a "shuffle" groove on trap-set…
I couldn't get anything right today so I just mashed through a guitar track and overlayed vocals. But now I kind of like the song so it will have to be redone.
So sit back and relax, don't shower or shave and have a beer!

i often find i have days like this,,,, and i also find that a beer,,, seems to smooth it over... at least for awhile,, and then... i carry on,,, each day must be lived in its own special way,, interesting way you put this kind of feeling all together,,, take care,, nice tune,,, Richard
Solo acoustic guitar recorded January 2nd 2009. Hope to do a longer more developed version at some point ,but for now just a short version to learn more about using new DAW software.
This is a cover of Richard Wright's original "night of a thousand furry toys" that i made a couple of years ago. all work, voices, instruments and recording by myself :0)
original lyrics and music: Richard Wright
very nice,, i hope to hear more... i see you are in Chile,, i was down there and Argentina , in 1980,, lovely country,, wonderful people, i went there to climb cerro Aconcagua,, made it to about 22,600 just below the summit,, but then we almost,, ended our lives, so it was a good thing we came back instead ..... but it all turned out well in the end and i am still here... i spend many wonderful weeks in Chile after the climb,, it reminds me a lot of where i live in south cal,, nice work,, good to see you here R
