How Do You Deal With Loss?

2024 50/90 Challenge song idea number 12 becomes finished song number two.

Two down, 48 to go.

So far this is the only song that was written on guitar. Everything else started out with a MIDI bass part and was built up from there.

Sometimes I wish I could sing. Really.

This has a startlingly bad punch in at the start of bar 17. Sorry about that.

The lyrics are my usual semi-stream of conscious crap. I throw a bunch of random lines off of the top of my head and then use a rhyming dictionary to help tie them together. I wouldn’t mind the lame, repetitive, lyrics if I could just sing worth a damn.

What gear did I use? The rhythm guitars are my Les Paul Custom into an Earthquaker Devices The Depth into a Klon KTR. The leads are my ES-335 Pro into the KTR into a Keeley D&M Drive into a Seymour Duncan Vapor Trails. All of the guitar tracks used two amps. A Fender Bassbreaker 15 and a Vox MV50. Both of them used their direct outputs and built in cabinet emulation.

Chorus
So what’s the point of it
How do you deal with loss
Hey do you have any thoughts
Help me to make it fit

Maybe just giving up
I don’t know what I want
Just let the subject be dropped
Don’t let me inturrupt

Verse 1
Someone coming
open the door
someone calling
asking for more

Verse 2
No point running
no where to go
Why keep trying
Doomed to failure

Saved!
