Space Trumpet was an excuse to try out my new plugin "Little Spacey" from Expert Sleepers and also to exercise the Kore sounds from Acoustic Refractions.
MIDI was supplied via IAC from Reaktor using Lazyfish's Spiral sequencer. The project…
So one too many coffee's and I have insomnia, I decided to mess about with my prototype sequencer Rytme and one of the Logic piano presets (Piano Motion).
I came up with this piece (in the key of A Major) which is rather repetitive (a quality…

Thank you for the lovely comments about my recent track.
I really like the percussive sounds in this they really create a great upbeat vibe for the whole track.
I wanted to make a track for halloween but technology problems and time have conspired that I didn't get very far.
However I'm uploading the first couple of minutes of what I have.
Have a spooky night!
I like this. I am a Sci-Fi fan and this could be a soundtrack of the next Sci-Fi movie. I imagine starships moving slowing through a crowded space with planet earth in the background. This might be the opening scene.
I've been listening to the output of my *Reichenbach* Reaktor ensemble all morning as it loops and phase shifts a recording of Erik Satie's solo piano piece Gnossiennes-1
I find it to be quite beautiful and entrancing and I decided to render…
Another in my series of experiments with the Reaktor ensemble Metaphysical Function.
I used two instances of Metaphysical Function to generate a soundscape that was bounced to audio, chopped up, and re-arranged.
The whole thing was rather…

I swore that I would NEVER upload this. Was having a bad day trying to loop "nice" acoustic guitar sounds and got frustrated so grabbed my Taylor and plugged it into a cheesy Effects box and straight into the looper. Started twiddling knobs and…
Ok, I have decided to put it here. It is a stretch containing several ideas, it falls apart here and there (especially at 3:10), but I think the atmosphere shines through.
Hope I can return to it in a couple of weeks (when my head is clear…
I really enjoyed this track, it's got a great groove and lovely sound. I didn't notice anything untoward around 3:10 although I confess I wasn't listening totally focused so maybe I missed something. For a work in progress I'd have to say this sounded pretty polished and I look forward to future mixes.
electric mandolin on 3 tracks - 2 bowed (right and left) with viola bow and 1 strummed just a bit and mostly ebowed (center)
Washburn bass
voice with effects
drum loops sliced and diced
For improv friday
This is part 2 - see Keys at Lowes for an explanation of what I'm trying to do.
Ok, another try using base frequencies of 0.1, 3, 10, 17, 33 and 48 Hz spread in stereo space plus some of the original mixed in. (additional…
This is right up my street, you're really getting some fabulous timbres out of this. I tried the improvFriday site a couple of weeks ago but really had no idea what I was doing.

I did an experiment using Paul's Extreme Stretch harmonics function and Audacity.
I took a raw field recording (included here field recording http://notonlymusic.com/board/download/file.php?id=1187 ) and ran it through…
Comments on Mr Sandbags's stuff
well done mate like it
Nicely done mate
I think this one worked out really well. A definite grower.
Interesting. Tends to bring out elements that just whizz by in the original. Cool, thanks.
Thanks Mr.Sandbags. More live stuff to come real soon.
excellent...man, I love this.
I'm really liking rytme and elesium. Both very cool and complimentary to each other and composition in general.

Cool sounds and textures!

I like it too. Intriguing.
Talking Sun, shinin'. Matt's style
Wow cool sounds mate. Thanks for your recent comment and no there is no washboard, played around with the beatbox and that's what came.
Nice one mate that certainly has potential.
And what a rhythmic sun it is. Very cool (especially for a sun). Vox please.
Much better the second time around. I feel good!!!
Very very cool. But I didn't have you pegged as a reggae fan. Ya think you know someone... :-)
Holy crap. Glad I didn't listen this last night.
Infectious rhythm! Great stuff!
def. one of my favorites that you have done.

I can't put it any better than m'friend & colleague WS.
I'm still trying to get my head around improvFriday but I'm definitely going to give it another try if I can listen to you playing this kind of stuff!
Love your new sound :)
This isn't the kind of thing I'd normally go for but i like the sound and, as osckilo says, vibe you've got going on in this track.
Fun stuff.
Nice... and too short :)
Good stuff.
Great loop!
Well I enjoyed this.
Sounds good to me man!
Great track Bruce, really enjoyed that.

Great song guys.
Enjoyed that.
Wish I could come along to one of your rehearsals!
Great track, esp. love the section starting around ~1:45 and the bass, and the synth, and oh everything :)
Oh man, i was just getting into that when it faded..!

Arthur C. Clarke once wrote "Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic". This was truly magical my friend :)
