The ninth of 9 demos I recorded in Jan. 2009 for the upcoming Spooky Garcia album that Rob and I are recording for RPM '09. I would have posted the eighth demo I recorded for the album but it sucks.

Yeah I like this track a lot. I really like the vox treatment; kind of a twangy Bob Mould (I'm almost curious as to how this would sound with heavier guitars :-)
i am thinking about words tonight
they can be hard as nails
they-can be as shapeless as water
they can break your heart
they can hang like a chain
hold you up for years
cause you to think twice
take away your fears
you are falling in love…
Nice! I am a huge fan of Mellotron. We actually used a bit of Mellotron on our album this year but I also use a lot of tron on my solo projects under "Jeff Archer" here.
This one was inspired by Wen's mom; and is therefore dedicated to all those musicians doing RPM, and all musicians who toil away at home to make their music despite what their friends & co-workers might think of their efforts.
you tell me what you want
you tell what you need
i cant give you nothing honey
but this pretty little seed
where has the sun gone
and is it gone forever
will it come back someday
should we just give it some time
i ask you what…
Overlapping noise-based drones playing time & tone shifted noise tracks ,often dozens of copies of a single source, off and against each other to create beat frequency throbs, overlapping rhythms and near chords.
Tomorrow marks the beginning of the RPM Challenge.
So the screwing around I do today should be either tossed or posted to avoid the temptation of using it in my RPM album...
Rough and Slow acoustic version of the more poppy [lifeline glu and sudara collaboration](http://alonetone.com/doublemeanings/tracks/lifeline).
If you like 4 minutes of the same 3 chords, you'll LOVE this song.
Now that I have two microphones…
Comments on Spooky Garcia's stuff

wish i was a baker. i once was a baker married to a nun(ex).. really!! clever use of synth
great instrumentation! The lap steel(?) and organ are especially great.
This, and Setting Sun, are favorites from yer album. Neat effect on that guitar.
I'm not usually much of a country fan, but I'm really enjoying this track.

This takes me back to a great and very special artist from the 60's by the name of Leonard Cohen.

Great acoustic guitar sound. Do you use condenser mics for acoustic? I like the lyrics and harmony vocals also.
lovely vocals too!
Gorgeous! Fantastic piano sound.
Shades of Ray Davies here both vocally and style-wise. Great stuff!
This is awesome and dreamy!
Fantastic tune and playing!

Rockin' tune! Here They Come!!!
Great Tune!
Nice! Very interesting music.

I hear shades of Harry Nilsson here. Very clever!
The reminds me of the sort of stuff Eno was recording around the "Apollo" era. Classic ambient soundscapes here. Nice Fripp style on the guitar too.
Very nice! the cello/violin? sound is perfect. Fantastic music!
I love the guitars on this. Great flow as always
Nice grooves! Love the organ sound and the counter-melodies.
Very moving! Nice introspective playing as well.
