Tomorrow (Lyrics)
I know the curse of the darkness is coming
those dark nights that will feed upon my soul
with no forward glance of tomorrow…
I heard Jimi Jamin for the first time the other day after M.T.C commented on it with ".yep....this jim is jammin today" and it got me thinking about Jim when he's jamming and his inspirations i may be well of the mark but hey! were trying…

Reg was looking through you tube videos http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OGQxhaPhFDs&feature=related and was shocked at what he saw.........
THE PLAGUE OF METH (Lyrics)
She seems twisted in her agony
her pain is visible
its destroyed her
tormented…
Very good lyrics man. We have a huge problem with this in my home town. Even have billboards on the roadside showing the horrors or meth use. Very powerful.
Hook sent me two mix's and i couldn't decide which sounded better so i thought i'd put both up and let you decide....this one has a bit of age to it and i love how the Banjo and the Piano work together....let me know what you decide.....thanks…
Now that I listen more, I hear that the track positioning in stereo didn't change, but feels much different because of whatever you've done. I feel like the voice is closer to the piano in the spectrum. They combine well together and so you get more "booming" on the right side and the banjo is set off on the left. I wonder how the balance would feel if the voice was more present on the left...?

It feels like the instruments are now positioned differently in this mix and the banjo is not as present (which I think is good), so you get the rhythmic sensation without interfering with voice and piano, with which in this take, the banjo seems to have more separation.
Well... I have a feeling that many of us may wish for a 2020 do-over. So here's a simple song to make that wish for us all!
Oh Mulligan
I wake up every morning
My jaw is clenched so tight
Even in my dreams it’s a battle
Who’s wrong and…
Music written and performed by Mike Smith, also known as Dragonsong.
When Mike first asked me to read this poem, he believed it was written around the time of the Spanish Flu...but, our sources say no. It was most likely written by Kitty O…
I wrote this one in response to a song writing challenge from the Minnesota Association of Songwriters. The title had to be Mississippi Moon and it had to have a I V VI I II chord progression somewhere in the song. Over 20 writers have signed…
This is the last song on The edge of Winter but it is not finished there is another part yet to be written ...
Winter's tale of woe : Part 1 - The end of winter. Part 2 - The last snowstorm
This is an oldie. Recorded in 2005. It was the first recording I finished on a DAW, but I'd played it a lot in the last band I was in (around the turn of the century). I think it was written in the mid 90s. It's about one of the casualties of…
This is a true story. Im pretty sure this guy still has a taxi job on the night shift in Denver.
Too long since I’ve posted a song. Most importantly, I got Norm to dust off the skins and record some percussion for me. Good to hear Norm and…
Tim Chandler was a tall man with a big heart and a great sense of humor. He was the bassist for a number of bands including Daniel Amos, The Choir, and The Swirling Eddies. He also played bass on sessions and tours for Phil Keaggy, Randy Stonehill…

And this is the last of the little threesome of In Your Hands, Little Thing, and this one, When I Try To Be Me.
It's in the key of 4th fret and was written just over a month later than the other two, on 19th March…
Do you ever have an idea / song that you just need to get out of you and recorded, even though it's so rough that you'll want to re-do it over and over again? This is one of those for me....
Drive Until The Signal Dies
Verse 1
Your Silence…
(Remastered 22/10/2021)
Now here's a bit of an oldie - the second song I ever wrote. In... 1978!
I think I played it once, or maybe twice, at school assemblies. My musical peers and colleagues back then dismissed it as corny/rancid pop music…

OK, let's delve once more into the magical shoebox of unused songs...
I've already recorded several that were written in 1994 (Sleeping with the Ghost, Elizabeth's Room, With Mum Again, If You Knew, A Hundred and…
Well you’ve proved to yourself your not “crap” reminds me of something my father would say to me time and time again “ don’t touch that you’ll break it “ and I normally did. Pleased you saved this one from the shoe box an excellent lyric love it pie pod bound along with all your others 😁

I wrote this song about my father and Dementia/Alzheimer's over a year and a half ago. We just finished the song and video, kind of surreal because Dad is in a nursing…
My mother recently died of Alzheimer’s after a long illness and I can say you’ve certainly captured the disease with this track, the desperate confusion, the fear and loss an excellent bit of work . My heart goes out to you or anyone who has to deal with Dementia it’s a horror You grieve while the loved one is still alive.
After the lockdown, I felt Out of the Darkness. It's still a long way to go but at least I can breath fresh air and walk immersed in nature once again.
