This was originally intended to be track 5 on "Novella Minor." Somehow, "Take" ended up getting the vote. Personally, I'd rather this one was there, but whatever.

This is a far from finished version of a new song. I have lyrics for it, but haven't recorded any vocals yet. I'll repost it when it's a little more completed. For now though, I'm anxious to post it even as it is. Hope you can dig on it.

We wrote it and recorded the basic bits in December, 2009, but I didn't add vocals for quite some time. It's a sketch of something that will end up on our second LP, whenever that comes into fruition.
For now, here it be.

This is the title track from our three song EP. The other two songs, "Still," and "Pretend I'm Dead" ended up on the LP, "Novella Minor," but we left this one out, not being happy with the overall recording, and feeling that there were songs that…

track 5 from Novella Minor. Probably actually my least favourite song on the album. In retrospect, I would like to have replaced it with something different, but it's kind of carved in stone now. I mean, it's not terrible, it just doesn't really…
This is something I did on my own a couple years ago that we're thinking of tackling as a band and including on our sophomore LP. It certainly has some different textures than what we're prone to churning out, so the re-arrangement process will…

Oh, nice rhythms happening here.
1:00 mark... heck yes, man. very tasteful indeed.
I keep thinking, "this is my favourite track so far," until the next track starts. These songs are in the perfect order. This album really grows and unfolds and gets thicker and wider and ...
what is happening at the 2:30 mark? That's bloody awesome man. I didn't see that coming. Too good.
YES! That is a really great, looming, oppressive bass line.
Excellent use of winding and interweaving guitar parts, cycling between the wah and clean bits.
The 2:30 mark is great. Really intense. The way that part rolls on until the release at 3:00 is perfect.
Love the way the drums roll in at the :50something mark.
This builds really nicely. Great backward bits too.
Yeah. That's a very nicely laid out piece of music, right there. Excellent come down. That acoustic foundation lick is really infectious.
Extravagant and clean and practised, oh, so very well,
they pose and fall and knead and climb, unclothed yet practical.
The ceiling sets the scene and I am reminded not to go.
I'm at the mercy of this posthumous woe.
Never seen again…
Thank you, MTC. Strictly speaking, it isn't really a This Caustic Autumn track. I recorded it on my own, but though it was close enough that it could make its way onto this page.
I suppose the description on our homepage here could stand to be updated. TCA seems to be on more than a temporary hiatus. I believe we have disbanded.
However, the Eugene Hammond project I've been working on, though exactly what I want and need it to be, is not entirely fulfilling, and with our without the name TCA behind me, I will be dishing out some more of this brand of music in the coming months. "The New Minstrel," is from an EP I've got just a bit of knob twisting left on before it comes out on revolving door records. I have more up my sleeve beyond that, as well.
Thank you muchly for coming by to check out the fresh post. When the new stuff if complete and fully ready for the light of day, I'll post another track here, and a link to the rest of it.
This is maybe the first track written entirely by This Caustic Autumn as a group effort. I'd been to see Sigur Ros play at Massey Hall in Toronto the night before we wrote this, so that's where the idea for the bowed Les Paul came from. Other…

I'm pretty new 'round these parts and am still trying to figure things out. I don't seem to be able to respond to particular comments, so I'll give a group thanks to everyone for taking the time to check this song out and leave your mark.
Yes, these is some clipping. This actually isn't the version I meant to upload but once I got it up I figured I might as well leave it, but yea, the clipping is a pain in the ears. The over version, I believe, is clipless.
Thanks again,

Great track, could almost hear Ozzy singing this. EXCELENT.
This will be an awesome track if you can get the right vocal on it, Sounds so dark and menacing.
Nice mate very cool.
Very tight - great guitar harmonies in there especially.
Heh, no apologies needed. Jus' makes us look forward to hearing more! Love the energy exploding in at 1.50! Definitely has a story to tell.
I like the way your group is using space here a lot. I love this tempo, and the sounds, and the way it seems to ebb and flow.
Great crunchy soundbed, and the vocal is awesome! Love the mix of heavy and tender.

Your acoustic tone is really nice. What kind of guitar is that?

Great album, all together. I think Caterpillar Podium is my favourite, but the whole project goes as one perfectly.
Beautiful, clever lyrics.
Bah... don't edit yourself on my account. Those are some nice fucking compliments. I'm really glad you've taken such a liking to our sound.
