The berimbau is a brazilian percussion/string instrument that is the foundation for this tune.
Thanks to Dana (Alontoner) who added the sweet backup vocals to make this a much better piece.
And thanks also to K. Scot Sparks (Alonetoner…
this was an attempt at making a tune where the vocal melody was nonredundant with the chords (or never found in any of the notes of any of the chords).
Almost succeeded - but it was fun trying.

I know exactly what you mean. I cried when my daughter was married, because I thought I had lost her, but we are even closer now, if that's possible.
This is a very beautiful song, tenderly sung and well, it does it for me. Wonderful!
A moody solo acoustic thing that I came up with playing in a long forgotten tuning. Just got a new Zoom H4N, so this was recorded in my shop sitting at my reedmaking bench may 12 2009
there is a great melodic feel to this study
super clean guitar sounds, too
you're a 'fera' of the fretboard, as the brazilians would say.
(fera= 'wild animal' - which somehow gets used colloquially as "musical genius")
thanks for your kind words re: Wanna go home.
The chords are taken from a bossa nova tune - Quando Chegares - by Carlos Lyra - a great bossa songwriter.
Close your eyes, and come with me. It is a warm Autumn eve in the Black Forest. There are ancient folk tales about this magical wood... how late at night it comes to life with mischievious fairies and wood nymphs. Any mortal who hears the unusual…
shutting my eyes - i was back in brazil - the rainforest there is alive with many things - both fairy and non-fairy.
thanks for this beautiful piece of "forest" music!

this one grows on me
i like the guitar chords being plucked in the background, the nice persussion, and the picture painted by the lyrics.
to top it all off, the whole thing just has a great groove
thanks for this great song
I wrote this song after my brother passed away a couple years ago. His girlfriend of 4 years asked me to write the music to a poem she wrote. This is what it turned out to be.
Lyrics by Annie Buller.
I wrote the music to this song while playing around on the piano, thought it sounded nice. But for a long time i left it like that cus I couldn't think of how to develop it.
Then one day i was playing it, and i stopped and saw my dad's old guitar…
There are a lot of times when I'm going through some hard times and I don't trust God with the situation, but in the end I can always look back and see how he had it under control the whole time. This song is written from God's perspective, and…
I'm dating a girl halfway across the country. One day I saw the moon and realized that even though we were so far away from each other, we could both see the moon at the same time. The seemed pretty cool when I first thought of it... it still…
This is what happens when three friends get together on pasta making day.
Special thanks: Annie, for your voice; Dana, for your voice and your musical knowledge (she knew exactly what chords we needed).
Dana is a fellow alonetoner, you should…
Rough and Slow acoustic version of the more poppy [lifeline glu and sudara collaboration](http://alonetone.com/doublemeanings/tracks/lifeline).
If you like 4 minutes of the same 3 chords, you'll LOVE this song.
Now that I have two microphones…
First draft.
Dedicated to my mother on her birthday.
In the outro: Trombone, Horns, Clarinets, Mouthpiece buzz by Andy Hentz (arrsuarez) and organic drum related sounds by Glu.
this one gets better every time i listen to it. it isnt just good enough - its too good!
Sudara - a huge thanks for all your work in creating this space - this whole community of givers and receivers - there is true musical relating and connecting going on here. priviledged to be a part.
"sempre grato"...
Sam was a very articulate and kind friend; he spend way too much of his life in a wheel chair and yet demonstrated a lot of grace.
We lost him just over a year ago.
Among many other unexpected, Christ-like kindnesses, he realized at one point…
