Hahahaha! “Seriously, do NOT snot on a bear!”
Another nice piano tune. I’m really enjoying your “album.”
Really enjoying your beautiful melodies.
Very autumnal. :-)
Aw, bittersweet this one, Yelyah. Delicately played - I can hear a whole orchestra slowly joining in from about 1.09! Inspiring!
Lovely meditative quality about it!
I like this.
Ther are tons of resources on youtube.com This is really beautiful by the way.
Another beautiful piece. I think a drummer said it, something like, “I spent 30 years trying to be perfect, and now I’m trying to unlearn it.” Or something like that…being human is always better than being “perfect.”
My fave so far. This is twinkly and dare I say, a little folky? I can hear a fiddle line!
That was me.
28!? Well played! (Your melody sounds like a vocal line - when are you going to bless these tracks with your lovely voice?)
Sounds pretty tight to me! Nice!!
28 tunes would make a great CD…I hope you can do it. Yeah, I remember the days I wrote so much music I had to use dates and letters for titles…but most of that got recorded, glad you’re getting yours down.
I think it’s dreadful that you stay away for such long stretches. :-)
This is lovely. More please.
More, more, please, more!!!
Another nice one!
moving composition. Thanks for sharing :)
Sweet Hayley backwards. :) Nice piano.
Really Lovely! Nice to see you back again!
Love this, I can’t quite put my finger on it, but it has a wistful quality that I found very moving.
Good going. Nice song.
If that’s what it takes to come up with some this nice, then I guess a few long stretches are ok, eh? Man, Nice…I love solo piano and this one’s just lovely.
Thanks for digging this up Captain, it’s a very nice piece.
This is very pretty, I really enjoyed it!
sounds great! Cannot really tell the difference.. but nothing sounds clashing to me! It’s weird not seeing you upload for a month after your consistent uploading spree.. upload upload!
It’s worth saying again. This is a lovely tune,
I really like it.
I hadn’t heard this one before either. This is a gorgeous piece. Wonderful to listen to and beautiful melody.
As someone who’s only accustomed to the western tuning system (shows my ignorance that I don’t even know what it’s called), this was very different and very striking.
How are you going about getting the different tunings? Are you tuning an acoustic instrument or doing this via a plugin?
Dig this! Keep on posting these, because this is inspiring.
Maybe I’m nuts, but it almost makes me think that maybe those of us on alonetone who are trying to improve on the piano could form a group for mutual encouragement purposes, and post what we’re practicing.
Lovely! Keep on accidentally keeping these pieces! :)
looking forward to more!
Dig all of the different musical bits going on in this one!
This tune will always hold a special place in my heart for it was the perfect ending to the 24 hour challenge.
Just wish I had been the one to write it! :)
I dig all of these. A fantastic 24 hour effort.
And I second what Kirk said, I want to be a fly on the wall in your studio! :)
I always dig your crazy otherworldly sounds!
And yeah, don’t hold back on us, keep ‘em coming!
I dig this and really hope you do something further with it (though it’s also beautiful just the way it is)!
Lots of great stuff on this album. Enjoyed listening to all of it.
This was my favorite. Lots of fun and glitchy stuff here.
So question for you.. how did you record the piano for this album?
And I realized later that you hadn’t specifically asked what I was using on one of my piano songs.. so to answer your earlier question: It was Reason+Record for that song, with “built-in” sounds as well some refills (notably the Reason Pianos that I mentioned).
Dig this one!
The polyrhythms (if that’s the term) really give me the sense of rain falling, too.
To answer your question… currently I’m using the Reason pianos refill. I’ve also used NI’s Akoustik, Ableton Live Suite’s grand piano, and an Alesis QS7 in reverse chronological order. :)
Not really an album, because that would tend to mean that there was some sort of theme or coherent structure to this. Which there wasn’t.
So instead, here’s my FAWM/RPM song-a-day playlist:
Another great one!
Glad you got refueled cause this is freaking awesome!
I like the lead, but I’d definitely have a slower fade out at the end. It left me wanting MORE.
Dig the western feel of this one. Gonna have to see the movie again to get the full effect!
I’d be game for any weekend in March.
Though I think I’d try to “cheat” and pull off the 24 minutes in like 12 hours since I’ve never ever ever made it a full 24 hours without falling into a coma.
I like both versions, but this is definitely my fave.
Another nice one! Always love the ambience you create in these pieces.
Damn. How on earth do you manage to get all of these separate things to fit together so well?
And reading through the liner notes…. I am in awe of your ability to focus on one piece for so long and what must be an amazing attention to detail. Where can I get me some of that? :)
Very out there man!
I’d love to see a walkthrough of your setup some time.
Another lovely one! Looking forward to the next.
Really interesting to hear your take on electronica, if you will.
Definitely looking forward to seeing what hybrid electronic/acoustic songs you come up with!
Love all of the change-ups (if that’s the word) that you have in this piece.
Dig all of the guitar layers going on in this one!
Dig this funky little track.
Leaves me wanting more!
I hear some cinematic themes here.
Lovely and moving!
