Alright, so it turns out that I lied.

THIS song is actually #60 of 2009. I forgot about how I turned the instrumental “lucid traum” into the spoken word ‘drama’ “wake me up” for a class project.

The 24 day song-a-day experiment is drawing to a close (origin story here: ). It seems to have become clear that I’ve gotten pretty good at cranking out rough ideas without much inspiration or much flow. Which is either very sad or a good thing depending on how you look at it.

So I’m thinking that the next extended experiment really needs to focus on taking all of these rough ideas and turning them into full arrangements. And I’ve always struggled with this step, which probably means it’s the most important thing for me to focus on right now.

And how all of this becomes relevant to this song, is that I started writing lyrics for this song, but couldn’t figure out how to finish them. So finishing this will be on my todo list once I move into the next phase.

Has a melancholy quality to it that I like. What sort of piano is that?
